I finished the front end work on my Audi last night! I have now installed:
Bilstein struts
Monroe strut mounts
Monroe brake pads
Brembo rotors
Control arm bushings
Can't wait to get it on the road and feel the difference. Tomorrow, I'm doing the rear rotors. Then I just have to troubleshoot a slow oil leak and install the new exhaust with equal-length headers.
Unfinished and hastily refinished uprights.
Old and new Bilstein struts. I can't help but wonder if that's really the original strut that came from the factory 22 years ago. It was still holding up decently for that much age, but it was definitely time for it to be replaced. It leaked oil all over the place.
Current exhaust style on top, improved exhaust on bottom. Can't wait to hear it once these are installed.

How are the bilsteins? My 22 year-old car is in dire need of a suspension overhaul and I have been looking at different options.

No idea yet, but it has to be an improvement. They look the same as the struts that were in there, but the new ones are a hell of a lot harder to compress using my body weight. I attribute that to the fact that both sides leaked quite a bit of oil. I haven't driven the car yet since there's a car blocking me from getting out of the garage. I'll just drive it tomorrow when I take it to my cousin's shop to work on the rear calipers.

I was just thinking of doing almost the same brake/suspension setup on my Coupe. Good luck, hope everything wakes it up a bit. These early '90s 20vs are so good in everything nut the stopping and agressive cornering department.
