Here's a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for $2500 obo. I'd take off the hubcaps. Otherwise, it's the perfect size for a small 4x4. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but with a 6-banger for $1k more. I don't know why, but I just love these things.

I love them as well, but I'd probably go with a small pickup instead.

They're pretty great. I got a '01 2-door RWD a few months ago with 115k for $4k from a dealer. The first one you listed isn't worth it, go for the 4.0 and the first one isn't a 4x4 it's only RWD like mine. If you'r not looking to go offroad then it's fine though. Keep in mind that while the 2 door is sexy it is less convenient than that 4 door, getting in and out of that back seat is a pain.

Yeah, I don't think I could get a Cherokee without the 4.0. And 4x4 is essentially a necessity for street parking during Chicago winters, so the white Jeep is more realistic for me. But damn is that body style sexy! I'll have to keep my eye on these.

Part of me wants a 2 door XJ, and absolutely not have a rear seat. Two seats, and cargo room in a robust, yet modest sized vehicle.

If it were to have 3-mode 4WD, that would be fantastic... a mode between 2WD and locked-transfer-case 4WD, that allows 4 driven wheels on partially dry surfaces, not just loose or slick surfaces.

It is insane that in a world that has everything going SUV and now CUV, that such a vehicle doesn't exist anymore.

It seems like you have to get the full size 7+ passenger bus to get adequate power, robust construction, and technical chops anymore.

My wife and I looked at a Jeep Commander Limited the other day... great leather seats, and a real-SUV boxy look, with a 5.7L Hemi, but it weighs 6000lbs, and has 7 seats and a DVD player between two rear seat sunroofs.

We don't have regular rear seat passengers.

All that size and weight that makes it a hinderance in parking lots, and a gas guzzler on the road is wasted on us, yet we can't buy anything markedly smaller (Grand Cherokee is barely smaller), without getting cheap-o chincy FWD econo-box based Patriot, or a Jeep Liberty that has problems with side windows falling down on broken regulators, and then the doors catching on fire.

They were never sold in Australia, which of course means I lust after them.

However, we got the J10 so it's a good tradeoff.

Have a friend with 4 of them, both 2 and 4 door. All have 4WD and 4.0L engines. Can you say bulletproof?

don't get the 2 door. 4 doors are waaay better if you plan on using the back seats for putting things, or if you have more than 1 friend.
