I love this thing so much. Such a good little car to hoon around. Just fun to drive in every way.

They are awesome cars. The chassis is unbelievable for a convertible.

Most people who turbo an S2000 regret it afterwards and end up selling the car or trading back to an NA car in the next several years. When I was thinking about boosting the S2000 I had, of all the people I asked who had done it, well over half said it ruined the car. The problem comes in how it impacts the performance and balance of the cars. Most people put far too big of a turbo on and end up ruining the character of the car. Small turbos are almost unnoticeable and so feel like a massive waste of money. The happiest were perfectly matched turbo owners and supercharged car owners... but still many recommended against it.

I'm not going to fuck with the engine at all really. Exhaust and suspension yes.

It's more rigid and stable than my A4

Yep. There's a fine line between modding and ruining a car, and turbos are potentially a huge leap over it. Lots of stuff to break too, particularly transmissions and rear diffs.

And keep it shiny side up please.

Suspension is tricky. Lowering them can actually ruin the handling. Check out some forums like http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/ and read up on what works. I would hate for you to waste money dropping the car only to find it ruins the ride and cornering performance. There are some really good kits for them, but there are also a ton of really worthless "only for looks" kits.

Have fun with the new toy. They are amazingly fun in autocross.

Yeah, the S2000's diff is a major weak link when the power is increased. They are intended for great road course/canyon carving performance... not drag racing or massive power.

I used to have a very similar s2000...2003 AP1 with AP2 wheels. GPW with tan interior. Unfortunately I got fed up commuting in it and traded it in for my Subaru. Love the current car but miss that S2000 a LOT.

Edit - just found this on my desktop. ARGH I miss it so much (especially on nice twisty drives out in the countryside)!

I like the ride height actually. I don't have a single issue with it though.

It's going to be my daily, but my commute is only a few miles. I don't mind the rough ride or whatever

I have driven and owned a lot of cars, and research things to insane detail when I get interested. That on top of the fact I have a really good memory means I'm full of some semi-useful knowledge... and a lot of useless random facts.

I though I knew something about cars, but after reading what you post, all I know is that I know nothing!

There are people who know a lot more than I do. I just learn what pertains to the type of car, racing, or tuning, I am currently interested. For instance the last several months I have been absorbed learning about mid 80's Z car differentials, the different iterations of vehicle electrical systems, fuel system design, SR20DETs, and calculating theoretical top speed based on gear ratios, power, and drag coefficients... because it all relates to the current project car. The learning is endless when you are basically redesigning a cars critical systems.
