Update 11/8: The car has been !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! it's a 2002 Lincoln LS according to the translated article.
This comes from !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! it appears a driver hit and killed a Cyclist. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and have come up with either Mercedes or Infiniti, the popular consensus right now seems to be an Infiniti G45m but we can't be sure.
Here's a local news video including some better shots of the suspect vehicle
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Lets get on this crime buster! I have faith in my fellow Jalops.

The ridges on the body above the wheel wells and the sharp angle made at the C pillar makes me think it's a CLS, but it looks too small to have 4 doors.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 10:58 |
|
I though CLS at first too, but what about that third brake light?
![]() 11/05/2013 at 11:01 |
|
It looks like a Y34 M infiniti to me — That's a long ass trunk.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 11:06 |
|
I feel like the C pillar is too straight to be a CLS.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 11:09 |

The CLS has a third brake light in the same location.

I agree, but it's the closest thing I could think of. I would imagine those fenders are familiar to someone on here.

BMW E65 7-Series. That rear bumper with no exhaust cutouts seems to be a 740 or 750.

Not a MB.

2010 Mercedes E-Class
First thought as I saw the pronounced arc over the rear wheel. I didn't think they made a coupe till i searched images.

I See An Infiniti M-
![]() 11/05/2013 at 13:43 |

Actually kind of looks like an older car, no? Based on proportions and boxiness (in the video)
![]() 11/05/2013 at 13:43 |
|
If you watch the video over and over its clear there is some streaking with the frame rate, sometimes it looks like a longer car, sometimes shorter. Not sure its a q45

A few more clues. its looks like the color temp of the headlights is not consistent with halogen or HID, so regular headlights here (judged against the whiter light from the cyclist) and there appears to be a strong character line running the full length of the car that doesn't bow. I don't think its a Merc, or M45...tough one.

The 3rd brake light on the Mercedes is on the trunk, in the video it appears to be behind the rear glass.

Looks like a Hyundai XG350 to me.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 13:50 |

EDIT: upon closer look, they don't seem to match.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 13:50 |
|
Given the boxiness of the profile, the strong crease over the rear wheel, thick c-pillar, long, flat rear deck and small lip spoiler.... I'm leaning more toward the Infiniti M
![]() 11/05/2013 at 13:50 |
|
Positioning of the 3rd brake light might help narrow it down a bit. I know some of the fancier saloon cars put them up near the roof line instead of down in the middle on the rear deck.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 13:54 |
|
The roofline and rear window looks like a dead ringer for a 2000-2006 Lincoln LS
Also note the pronounced lip above the wheel wells, which is unique the LS. Image is too blurry to tell if it's OEM or one of those Pep Boys chrome liners.

This would be funnier if the guy did'nt die....because I am sure Hyundai wanted their car to be confused with MB's and Bimmers at first glance when they designed that car.
I say contender.

you can tell from this screen shot that the a pillar is black and the base of the c pillar is curved
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:10 |

I'm going to add the Lincoln LS to the possible mix.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:15 |
|
Hard one, but judging by the C pillar. the boxy shape and what looks to be a 5 spoke wheel, perhaps an early 2000's Lincoln LS.

If this is from Puerto Rico I reed on the news that they found the registered owner of the vehicle but he/she wasn't driving or in the car at the moment of the accident. Here's the link from the local news paper it's in Spanish http://www.elnuevodia.com/identificandue…

Look at the ridge that runs down the back doors onto the rear quarter panel. That ridge is very apparent in the camera pic.

Lincoln LS?
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:25 |
|
i was thinking this too
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:26 |
|
This and the Lincoln LS are both damn close. If you look closely at the vertical distance between the top of the rear wheel arch and the belt-line it looks like the LS is a close match. The distance is much bigger on the M.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:27 |
|
Yeah, it's still hard to tell. The back window and sides seem to match, but the rear end is still questionable. It doesn't look like the Mercedes or Infiniti to me.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:27 |

DING DING DING. I think this is the winner.

Buick Park Avenue 2003-2005. Lights across the back and 3rd light over the trunk
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:28 |

My vote is also for the LS.
The wrap-around rocker shrouding matches.
The C pillar and rear glass are a dead-on match too.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:29 |
|
While I admit the video capture looks like a coupe, this roofline, rear door window and the flat trunk lid all point me here.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:33 |
|
Yeah and the pronounced crease on the beltline of the vehicle— it appears to be the same ratio of body:beltline between the LS and and car on camera— specifically, the beltline is located 50% above the rear wheel arch. Most of the other cars don't have such a pronounced beltline and are higher up.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:34 |
|
Could it just be the Standard C class?
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:41 |

What about a early 2000's Acura Legend?
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:41 |
|
My first thought was Kia Amanti
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:42 |
|
I think the Lincoln LS deserves a very close look. The basic shape is there, the belt line is right, etc. I couldn't find a rear three-quarter shot but it looks correct. If you watch the video, even the five-point wheels appear to be present as well.
Get this m-fer.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:43 |
|
This was my first thought as well.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:44 |
|
its an m45, you can see in the pic, the lower left part of the bumper has a slightly gray area, which is the one sided dual exhaust, also the edgy shape and large wheels.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:44 |
|
That's possible as well.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 14:57 |
|
![]() 11/05/2013 at 15:01 |

Yeah, this or a Kia Optima. The body is just too lean to be a MB or BMW.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 15:27 |
|
I wish we could make out if the fuel cover was actually in the picture and what shape it was, it would narrow this down a lot.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 15:28 |
|
the lines don't match up for me - the line from the rear window starts up much higher than the blurry photo
![]() 11/05/2013 at 15:28 |
|
That actually looks plausible but it's hard to tell from the picture if it's a coupe or a sedan.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 15:34 |
|
Based on the cars sold back home, I'd say it would have to be one of those ugly Hyundai cars. Now finding the person will be tricky just based on the info presented by the news on the neighborhood they came out from.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 15:36 |
|
The A-Pillar is so far away from the slanted B-Pillar that I think the car is a Coupe. It has to be a two door. In the enhanced photographs there are no visible gaps where the rear doors would be if it were a sedan. However, in the original "blurry" screenshot you can clearly see a gap for the passenger side door. Let's face it we are all just guessing, yes our best automotive educated guess, which is better than the general public, but it's a guess nonetheless. So even if the car is not a Acura Legend (which is my best guess) I would be incredibly surprised if it was not a late model luxury (use that term loosely) import coupe.

I vote mid-2000s Lincoln LS
![]() 11/05/2013 at 16:07 |
|
I live here in PR and have been following this, apparently the car left a piece of its grill and the cops had identified it as a Buick or Lincoln. Don't have the details but they might already know where the car is.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 16:07 |
|
Agreed - that's why it makes me think of the CLS but I know it's not.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 16:45 |
|
Yep, this was the first thing that came to mind for me as well.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 17:11 |
|
Yup. Additionally:
-The rear bumper diffuser and side skirts have the same outline with the sharp crease as the LS.
-The thick belt line matches the style of the LS.
-The rear bumper is also contoured around the license plate as in the LS.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 17:42 |

I think its 4 door, Lincoln?
![]() 11/05/2013 at 17:44 |

back window shape, and front wheel and hood line,
![]() 11/05/2013 at 18:06 |
|
I think it's either this or the Hyundai mentioned in another post here. Too tough to tell how long the trunk is, but the c-pillar/rear window of these two is the closest match...and frankly their sizes are similar enough not to be able to tell them apart from this angle.
2004 Infiniti M45 length: 197.2" / wheelbase 110.2"
2003 Hyundai XG350 length: 191.5" / wheelbase 108.3"
![]() 11/05/2013 at 18:31 |
|
That is as good as I can make it. This is a tough one. I think the video image is distorted or stretched a little.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 19:34 |

It looks like the owner of the company I work for's jaguar. I googled some photos and it looks passable. Something to look at for you real investigators.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 20:14 |

agreed. i see a hyundai.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 20:17 |

I said this was a Merc CL on Oppo. The character line going from the taillight to the rear of the front wheel arch gives it away. Also, the rear window is tall enough to be a CL and it appears to be a 2 door.
![]() 11/05/2013 at 20:19 |
|
I think it's a CL. Smaller, belt line crease goes from taillight to wheel arch, definite crease between door bottom and rocker panels, round, tall rear window, 2 door.
![]() 11/06/2013 at 00:37 |
|
I don't think so. There is no indentation (on the suspect car) in the rear bumper, as there is in this picture.
![]() 11/06/2013 at 00:45 |
|
I don't think it's a Mercedes at all. The rear windshield doesn't look like that to me. The top of the trunk needs to be flatter and the rear windshield needs to be a bit more at an angle.
![]() 11/06/2013 at 06:18 |
|
This is definitely a silver Lincoln LS. The slight finder bulges, the slope of the belt line, the black B-pillar, and the height of the trunk relative to the bottom edge of the rear bumper are dead giveaways.
![]() 11/06/2013 at 09:59 |
|
A pillar looks body color to me- it's just so blurry that you only see a sliver. Agree on the C pillar though.
