. It was time like ten years ago, bub.
Of course, this being VW, the future design language probably won't move you, as it is hinted by this.

VW hastn't changed their design language since the 70's, when they introduced the Golf. It's all just evolution from there.

I don't like modern day VW, but they've been doing fine the last decade or whatever. Just look at their sales. People seem to like it. Excluding the Jetta maybe, but that's a small niche model (in Western Europe).
The Golf Plus you've pictured is for old people. It's meant to be tall and look homely. The standard 5-door Golf is sleeker.
This is how the old Golf Plus looks like

Toyota Corolla, best selling car in history. Wold I drive one ? No. Ok, maybe, if the alternatives were a bus at rush hour or a bicycle.

Exactly. We tend to be a bit elitist on Jalopnik. Manufacturers aren't there to push our buttons with their bread and butter cars, they're here to sell as many vehicles as possible to the non-enthusiast.

No, they don't need a new design language. Their current one is good. The example shown looks nice though.
You know who needs new design language? Lexus, Toyota and Infiniti

Cool! Can you do the thing where you pick up objects using The Force?

I don't think it's that bad either. The bigger problem for VAG is that VWs look too much like Audis. I just can't justify buying an A4 when a Passat looks similar and is also FWD.

everything is rumoured to be brown, with a diesel and liftgate going forward. They're now doing all of their design market research on the internet.
