Hey oppo, I'm looking for a short term internship this winter (about a month). Preferably in the San Francisco Bay Area. Any ideas or where to look? for context I'm a first year physics major at Oberlin College.

It might be a schlep, but have you considered Fairn's Physics Emporium and Outlet?
It's a small operation and doesn't produce as many physics as the big box stores, but they're probably more likely to have the time to take on an intern.

I'm not sure we do Winter internships, but check out our site. We do physics and astronomy at Ames. Look on the right side of the page. There is an Ames specific site, but it's tied to Ames Community College.
