Same here, only my poison was Shadowrun and Palladium.
Problem is, I've managed to piss off one of the two people in this city who even know what SR is, so that's not gonna happen.

Hehe, nice... I used to roll 2d6 for damage, on the last game we played, by the way. I was sort of a Greatsword specialist, but in a game that was more of a Discworld based spoof than a serious adventure, that meant I got to fight with Greatswords, eat with Greatforks and Greatswords, toss Greatswords, breed Greatswords and grow their little short sword offsprings until greatswordhood, have childhood friends that were greatswords, and was actually adopted into a Greatsword family after the obligatory orphan origin story.
Now I kinda miss Timmy, the Barbarian...

I played a lot of Pathfinder and Star Wars D6, but haven't been able to find a local game lately. I miss it so much, haha.

It's all about White Wolf. Me and a few friends from work are re-starting our longish-running Werewolf: The Apocalypse game this coming Friday evening.

The last campaign I played I was a halfling thief who at level 10 could roll up to 4 d6 damage +14. . . I miss Quorthon, he was a devious motherfucker modeled after Tasselhoff Burfoot the great kender. . .

I haven't gotten into any of the other games. Luckily it seems the town I just moved to has a huge following of DnD and the other table top RPG's as there are 4 comic and game stores within 3 miles of each other. I guess it pays off to live in a college town. Now I just need to make friends with the other nerds. . .

Man I need to make friends so I can play some awesome table top games. I know there is a huge following of them where I just moved I just haven't made the right friends yet. . . There is nothing better than drinking beer and rolling dice and dickering over asinine rules to get damage done to monsters.

Awesome, sounds like there was a little bit of Belkar Bitterleaf thrown in as well. Do you by chance follow the Order of the Stick webcomic? It's one of the coolest out there, and it's been running since the 3.5 edition was new, so there's a lot to catch up in case you get bored:

No, I will have to check that out. From a quick google search of Belkar, yes Quorthon was much like that. He tried to womanize every wench he saw and my DM made me roll for dick size to impress the ladies, unfortunately I rolled a 1 on that so Quorthon never got with any ladies. . . It didn't stop him from trying though. . . Oh the funny things that you come up with while drinking lots of alcohol and playing games with friends is wonderful. . .

Haha, that's awesome... Reminds me of one of my weirdest moment, when, during an arena battle with a crazed yet critically injured amazon riding an unicorn and two downed teammates, I resorted to the very last piece of equipment I had at hand, a diary which had just started looking very tossable.
One natural 20 later, I was being crowned arena champion, being handed down the key item we needed to continue with our quest and creating the trend of my characters always tossing stuff that should not be tossed. To this day I've knocked out/killed enemies with books, greatswords, remote controls, defused bombs, live bombs, car seats, wheels, assorted car parts, computers, empty guns, hairspray bottles, bear traps and other enemies.

Yeah Quorthon would try to stealth around and get the jump but when that failed he usually went into bezerker mode and would get injured too badly to be of any use for a while. I ended up making our healer pretty angry a few times. . . But a drunk halfling is not one to be trifled with. I'm pretty sure I used the tactic of throwing things that shouldn't be thrown as well. My favorite d20 was really good at getting natural 20's which annoyed the DM and if it was a sneak attack I had the damage to pretty much take away half of the monsters HP in one go and outright slaughter the lower end monsters on a crit with all the silly little modifiers added up along with the conditional modifiers on the crit roll.

Four stores in three miles? I'm not sure Saskatoon has two!

Yeah it tripped me out as well when I discovered that. It makes me happy to know that there is support for the nerds where I'm at now. . .

No kidding, I'm rather jealous!
