The LS400 is majestic, understated, and badass.

All luxury cars for the rest time shall bow in its majesty.

S/C and liven up the 1UZ, put on some sticky tires and better suspension, and stiffen the chassis and you have a good LS400F. Don't forget some Toyota 6MT with a tall final gearing for stealthy Wangan assassinations!

A JDM Celisor Velocity (- Silky smooth six) took a picture of (to further prove my point):

These were called Celsior in Japan, which is an awesome name.

I've seen a legit imported Toyota Celsior. It was bright blue, had aftermarket wheels, and was straight piped. I adored it. I think I have a pic somewhere, let me look...

Yep! I love the JDM Lexus names; Aristo, Celisor, etc.

My dad bought a 1990 LS400 right when it came out. No one had any idea what it was, and he said at the time it was like a spaceship. He adored that thing. Too bad it attracted terrible luck (rocks from a truck hitting it, house painters being idiots and forgetting to close the garage door when spraying primer...), so he had to sell it with around 30k miles on it!

Ouch! They commanded quite a premium in the early years, with prices exceeding those of the Supra Turbo for a couple. I imagine it really must have garnered a lot of attention with its modern styling and massive stature on the road. Did the painters end up paying for damages?

I usually don't like "stanced" (its not that stanced) cars, but I still loved it.

In indonesia, we have something even more badass..

Kinja'd!!!

That is, a first gen toyota century. A bit expensive at 5k for a body shell only, and exceed some 10-15k for running examples, but you can request Toyota to put their only V12 into this thing. And add some TRD kits from the Crown VIP, and you got an ultimate sleeper!

Probably less HP than S/C but much better sound IMO.

So, can you tell me how to move to Indonesia :)

That is unbelievable! I love classic centuries, and that with a V12 would make for a better classic luxobarge sleeper than a 450SEL 6.9 or Lincoln Continental!

Nope. They scrambled out of there afterwards I'm pretty sure. My dad decided it was too much to repaint and just sold it.

Wow, that sucks big time. I have never heard of a painting/contracting screwup where the team didn't just get the hell out of dodge. I really want an LS400 right now after thinking about it, despite the slushbox. It's a classy and majestic luxury car that you can find in great condition for $4,000 with reliability and ruggedness that exceeds any S-class of the day that wasn't completely pampered.

That belongs in a collection! It's been driven, on avg., 1 and 2/3 thousand miles/year. And it'll end up with 24" chrome wheels, most likely :(

I am going to look around on some online classifieds.
