Haven't seen a thing yet here. That a 700?

Unrelated note, but you have my old car as your avatar, and that is epic.

Same here. Yeah, it's my favorite. With the stock it has it's extremely well balanced. My dad is about a mile away from me using his cannon of a gun, a 300 weatherbee magnum. You can hear that thing for miles.

I've always wanted to go hunting but I honestly don't know if I could pull the trigger on an animal. I've been pestering my dad to clean our old Winchester and take me to the range at least. I've only ever been shooting once.

Heh. I used to use my grandfather's old 700, but since last year I hunt with a Mosin Nagant...it's...well, Russian, so there is that.
My old man hunts with a replica black powder buffalo gun, he also shoots it competitively here in TX. Now that thing is a freaking cannon.

It's definitely not for everybody...but I always get a good feeling about providing for my family by bringing home meat that I stalked and killed.

Do you have to drink a large amount of vodka before using it? Haha Oh and your dad's gun sounds just plain bad ass. Oh and an update, I've seen 8 deer, though there were either babies or does with babies. Still waiting for a big doe or a buck.

I suppose if I looked at it like that I could do it, even though if I killed a deer I wouldn't have the slightest idea what to do with it.

Good luck! I'm going back out tonight, I met my old man before coming home and he said he's been mostly seeing them in the evenings.

That's the part I hate...I have a weak stomach, so gutting a deer is pretty bleh...after that I haul it to the processor, although I do also know how to process it myself, it's really a pain, and it's worth the 50 or so bucks they charge to do it, and they tenderize it too, which is essential if the deer you get is older or a rutting buck.

I've never tried venison, but I'd like to. I don't think I'd have a problem gutting a deer, it'd be the killing it in the first place I'd be iffy on.

Lucky bastard. You must live in a less-communist state than Ohio... which doesn't deem it's peons worthy of hunting with rifle.

I'd like to hunt with this:

But, due to retarded Ohio laws, I have to use this, instead:
