Now what it was doing at a Home Depot is another question.

"Now what it was doing at a Home Depot is another question."
For instance, you've got chores to do. Something stupid. And you just want to blast down the countryside.
Go to buy x product you really needed at home depot.
Grab SLS
Conclude that it is not good for a high performance motor to be run for a short while
Blast down countryside for an hour
Congratulate yourself for doing something useful.

True, but it is within the lines of a single parking space. That has to be worth many, many somethings.

Why at HD?
Easy.
His toilet is messed up and he thinks Plumbers are too expensive.
So, off to HD where he'll get bad advice and the wrong parts.
Then he'll get home and find out he's screwed.
Now, with a little pressure from loved ones he breaks down and calls a Professional.
The HD parts wind up sitting on a shelf, unused and unusable.
I've seen it a thousand times.

In my neighborhood there is a guy who has a dull olive green SLS (like an old army jeep) and because he liked the car so much he bought it again, this time around as a convertible. Basically alternates between his two SLS's and an Aston Martin Rapide and sometimes a Cygnet too. So one day I go to the super market in my area and see one of his SLS's parked on a spot reserved for mothers with children. Obviously I take a picture, planning to upload it to Oppo when a guy comes up to me and asks me what I'm doing:
Me: "Taking a picture of the SLS"
Guy (somewhat happy): "You like the car?"
Me: "Who doesn't. But it still doesn't give the owner the right to park on a spot reserved for Mothers and children. That's an ass hat move."
Guy (not so happy anymore): "That's my car. And I own this lot, the supermarket, everything. I think I can park wherever the fuck I want."
He kindly asked me to delete the picture, to which I complied. A couple of weeks later, I go to the same supermarket and now one of the "mother/ child" parking spots has been turned into his private spot. That's a Bruce Wayne level of ass-hattery right there!
Edit: Before somebody wants to slam me for sexism, I knew beforehand that the car belonged to a rich guy from the neighborhood.

Many shopping malls have 'mall vehicle' only parking spots. It's perfectly justified. People own the mall, it's their land, they should get a parking spot.
I've never ever seen a mother/child parking spot. I've never understood those. Why mothers, and not fathers? My parents always parked at the end of the lot to save time, instead of waiting for 15 minutes for a space. And door dings were avoided.

I don't mind him having his own parking spot, but I found it funny that he didn't think of that before building it.
The mothers and children parking spot is there because women (with or without children) are at a higher risk of being attacked than men in general, that's why they're well lit, have surveillance and are close to the entrance/exit of the store.

Never thought of it that way.
I can somewhat understand a children's/parent's parking row, because you know children might runa round and get hit by cars, and carrying stuff while keepign an eye on your kids is pretty annoying.
As for the parking lot, he might have bought it after it was already built, or just decided that he wanted a personal parking spot, a la Steve Jobs.

The guy's in real estate, specializing in oddly looking malls and super markets with faux-baroque trims (not that I would mind faux baroque trims) and apparently he set up his office above the supermarket. He also has a very specific policy of hiring buxom blondes and every time people from other RE agencies go to his office for business talks, they make sure that at least one of them fits his type.
