i think a big part of this is that, as cars get tons more complicated, the systems involved get tons more complicated. this particular incident seems like a very odd thing that you think we'd have been hearing about for a while were it common.

It's the stability control inadvertently actuating the brakes because of a faulty yaw sensor.
Honda's recommendation, turn off the stability control.
