I'm not normally a brand snob but it caught my eye as I walked by the Oakley store and I decided to go in and try it on.
It's a cotton jacket coated with polyurethane/synthetic leather so it works well for those cold rainy days, which I got to test when I left the mall.

I know the founder of Oakley, he's since sold it, and he still has influence on the fundamentals of design. He loves pockets for his gadgets, so this coat fits the bill. I think it's very nice looking. I don't actually wear Oakley glasses, but their accessories are really nice.

The pockets are quite spacious!

It's very comfortable to wear and if unbuttoned, can still be worn in warmer weather so I don't have to necessarily take it off when I go outside (I live in Puerto Rico but most of the places I frequent have really really cold air conditioning.)

The only sunglasses I have are a couple of prescription Ray-Bans, a pair of aviators and a pair of wayfarers.

When I was paying at the cashier, I noticed they had pilot gloves which looked and felt fantastic but I told myself I had already spent enough and I left them lol.

Yeah, impulse buys are a huge problem of mine; it's always important to get out while you still can.

I have a Tumi jacket that has a pocket on the inside that holds my iPad! It's great for traveling in the Winter. I do have a pair of Oakleys somewhere. I wore them in Iraq. I have 2 pair of Persol, on matte black, one glossy black with green lenses.

Jim Jannard, found of Oakely, was showing me how he had them make him custom jeans to hold his multiple phones, tablets etc.. Pretty cool.

The look of your new jacket exudes that quiet quality I like. It's not showy at all.

By the way, my company operates the science mission at Arecibo. We'll have to get together if I every make my way there. I might go to an Ionospheric Conference there.

All it has in way of branding is the company logo on the front left breast pocket, and the Oakley name on the right rear shoulder blade. It looks very nice but understated at the same time.

Jim Jannard sounds like quite the interesting person, awesome that you got to meet him!

I've been to the radar telescope twice, definitely would be cool to meet up.

Nice. It's called the Oakley Men's Operative Jacket... about $120 at Amazon. Discretely cool.

I only noticed the name when I took the tags of at home. I like the subtle air of cool that it exudes. That's how much I paid at the store, it also came in gray and a tannish ermine color. I just preferred the black.

When in doubt, you can't go wrong with black. I may grab one of these myself. I have an AX, and FirstGear Kenya cycle jackets that I wear way too much. This'd make a great addition to anyone's wardrobe. ;)
