Had a peek under the hood of the new GT500.

The CAI; uh uh.
There are a few aftermarket options which aren't yellow, though they're not that much better either. Still, it's the first thing I'd change out based on the aesthetic alone... almost rather have a big black air box instead of that yellow monstrosity.
I have seen a yellow Boss 302 with all yellow accents under the hood, however, and it blew my mind.
I love my Mustangs. I even love my Mustang.

I share your love for Mustangs, just need to get to the Mustang Owning stage.
I don't really mind the color but it would look better in black.

I've had two. I want to make an S550 #3 once the full list of options comes to market (2017-ish? We'll see...)
My first was a 1988 GT. That's the fun, though under-powered 5.0L H.O. Five speeds, straight piped, and the very antithesis of the stereo thumping CRX's that were so popular with my peers - it was loud, too fast for a kid my age, and loud. Did I mention it was loud? No, I mean loud. I mean, the rich kids with the loudest sound systems couldn't compete. Like, living at home back then, had to kill the engine and coast down our long row of townhouses to park because even at idle it'd rattle windows and set off car alarms.
That's when I fell in love with Mustangs. And Foxes. I still have a crush on Foxes. Also, my mom had one back when she was a teenager so it's in the blood. Oh, and I lived "on a farm" for a good chunk of my life and fell in love with actual horses... the riding of. And there's no car, to my mind, which so captures that sensation as the Mustang. I'm probably biased however.

Uses a Tune too, yes?
I don't have a GT500. I don't even have a GT. Hell, I don't even have a 3.7.
I have a 4.0L Cologne, sporting the BBK CAI (no tune) but I was under the impression that virtually every CAI for the GT500 and Boss need a Tune? Maybe I'm just tired.

My uncle had a black 87 GT back when he was a flight instructor. Said it was a hoot. He even spun it on an off ramp after coming in a little hot from a race with an IROC-Z.

Posi trac wasn't always all that positive... or track-y.
I know that mine, in the rain, was suicidal. Didn't help that we'd stripped weight (back seat, smaller tank, interior trim etc) and the thing was on rubber which was probably good to go about 5 years and a hundred thousand miles before I got the car. She had heads, full exhaust, seats bolted to the floor - yes, the floor (kids do dumb shit sometimes) and a host of other, "Fuck you, preppy" style modifications .
And I still remember the day the head gasket went, and I went from VAROOM to putter-put-the-fuck-put. Got rid of the car the next day.
Now, I'm in an S197. Pre-facelift. And a six, pre-3.7. So, while I love my car deeply, there's a lot more Go yet to Come. Of course, maybe not now. All that went onto the way back burner when I found out I'm'a be a Daddy.

That sounds like a blast (see what I did there?).
Congrats on the impending fatherhood!
Be sure to pass on the Mustang bug to your kid, instruct him/her in the ways of The Force.

Okay, let's just say that the ATS 2.0T was looking mighty attractive as the next "family" car for the three of us.
But the S550 has been a looming threat.
Though uncertain, recent information has me pondering; will it Family?
Because first Turbo Pony since SVO!

You would be correct, sir. Some of the aftermarket intakes do not require a tune, but this one was so large the MAF had to be relocated, and hence a tune was needed. I also have a '97 Cobra at home with a CAI, but no tune needed there. How do you like the 4.0L?

I love the car.
I don't love the engine.
With enough work, I would. That is, full exhaust (dual swap, catted), full bolt-on, forced induction... then it'd be a really great motor. As it is, the 4.0 is fairly bulletproof and sounds... ok. It's a decent enough engine, but it's worlds apart from the current 3.7 six.

Makes perfect sense, hopefully you can get her built at some point.
