Excellent conversion ratio of rubber to smoke. However the inability to power slide hampers it's overall rating. Roll-on smoke shows in the first three gears, which are aided by well-timed turbo lag do raise it's tread-life-peril subscore to levels rarely seen in the subcompact class.

Its amazing how much easier it is to light up winter tires, for me at any rate.

FWD Turbo cars definitely do that. I burned through a pair of all-season fronts in a Wolfsburg Edition 6spd in about 5 months of daily driving.

Switching from summer OEM's to "Ultra-high performance all season" tires was pretty interesting. Not that much difference in grip, but a lot more progressive when you slide, a little more roll and they make way way more noise when they approach the limits.
Oh yeah and they work when its cooler than 60 degrees outside. That's nice.
Always amazes me how much of a difference a different set of tires makes.

yessir, the OEM Potenza RE050s are sticky as hell above 60 degrees, but they're pretty worthless this time of year, and I don't even want to THINK about what they would be like on snow :p I have run Dunlop Wintersport 3Ds the last few cars, but due to size issues I had to settle for Michelin xIce xI3's in 195/55-15 on the ST... the wheels i got are super light though, and Toyo R1Rs come in 205/50-15... which just might go on next summer instead of/in conjunction with the stock wheel and Bridgestones...
