I want to give you guys an idea of what kind of cars people rally over here. This rally is part of the French Rally Championship, but I was a bit disappointed by the cars present (even if I saw a mighty Delta Integrale Evoluzione, sorry no SR20) : 4 WRC and way too many Opel Adam, Renault Twingo RS and Clio RS. And only one GT car, an Exige Cup, and it was not that great to watch :/ Anyway, more pictures after the jump (they might be a bit dark), the following pictures were taken during a Special Stage on a 2 km long track.

The Alpine was driven by french rally legend, Jean Ragnotti.

And a nice PGO Hemera GT (not a great picture :/) I saw in the service park, next to the one Romain Dumas was driving in the rally. Unfortunately he had a mechanical problem earlier today during the first stages. Anyway the PGO looks really good in person, the yellow paint is quite amazing. And it's mid-engined.

Are all your rallies paved?

Is that a metallic yellow? I use to not be a fan of metallic yellows but these recent options have really started to change my opinion.

I would say most of them since we don't really have gravel roads here, but we do have a championship for gravel.

Yes it's metallic, but it does look good.

Gotcha. I know I had seen a lot of rallies on pavement in France, never thought about the lack of dirt and mud and gravel.

I just looked at a list, and there is more than 60 rallies on pavement and I would say less than 10 on dirt.

Do you have local TV coverage of any of the events? I want to track down some to watch.

Nope, no live TV coverage at all, even on those major events. There is not even a professional crew to film the event.... The only way is YouTube a few days after... it sucks...

But if you want live coverage you can try (both are in french) the FFSA website (I'm not sure about this one), or rallye-sport.fr which tries to posts times at the end of each stages along with a brief summary and they also posts videos.

Ah well. Same problem around here, but sometimes you Europeans have better interest in this sort of thing. I'll go look those up, thanks.

Only one I managed to get. One of the two DS3 R3 lifted the rear wheel in every corner.

France has a really good quality road network. They spend a lot of money building them right in the first place, and repairing them when they break.

Our little holiday home is in the absolute arse-end of nowhere and the roads are fantastic.

There was a Manta, I just don't have a picture of it. But I know who the driver is, and the car was this one :

The R3 are bonkers! Less than 2400 lbs, 250 bhp (can be increased to 270), and that SOUND, it depends on the setup, but sometimes you could swear they fitted a shotgun instead of an exhaust!
