EDIT - The Lexus LX570 is $3,000 more than this.

For that price just get the LX570 which comes with more prestige and shit.

That's a tank, you're buying there.

Not really more shit, so much as more electronics and smugness.

Land Cruiser sir. 5.7L V8 AWD monster!

I'd rather have a Raptor for 45-50k.

The Land Cruiser does NOT mess around.
Also most of the Toyota suv's are only a few thousand less than their Lexus counterparts: Highlander hybrid limited /rx450h; highlander limited/rx350; sequoia base, limited, platinum/GX base, limited, platinum (less than 500 difference here).

KDSS comes standard. Found in the McLaren MP4-12c. No sacrifice for on and off-road application. Up and Down hill assist. Towing capacity and torque for days. That interior..
...while doing this

Isnt the GX based off the 4Runner?

Land Cruiser Prado

Well, if there were any Toyota worth more than $70k, the land cruiser would be it.

2 thigns:
1. it costs a lot to make the worlds most well built vehicle...this is not hyperbole (the W.H.O. and the UN use these as company cars)
2. Chicken tax (25% tariff on imported trucks)

the lx570 has variable height suspension, the LC doesn't offer it.

And added smugness. Don't forget the added smugness of owning a Lexus.
![]() 11/01/2013 at 16:06 |

sure.

That's sarcasm.
I know it's a very nice vehicle, in addition to being very capable.

And then with the extra money you saved, take it to Hennessey or the like.

KDDS isn't really the same as McLaren's setup, since this still has springs and traditional shocks. What it is basically a hydraulic ram on the DS front control arm that links to hydraulics on the wheels in an x-pattern. The idea is that if the wheel opposite is traveling then valves transfer fluid to the ram which forces the front wheel to articulate in the opposite direction (the rear needs no such help) but when cornering the system is not transferring any fluid (since the forces are on the same side) so the ram is locked out increasing roll stiffness. Its basically a way to remove swaybar restrictions in articulation scenarios but keep it on road. The McLaren system is fully hydraulic with no sway bars or springs.

Do you only get the cheap variants? The Land Cruiser V8 (diesel) starts at £65k in the UK. That's over $100k.

duh dude :] Still kickass. Still, not as good as old school..
in the tricky stuff. I've seen some of these old beasts put the IFS trucks to shame.

im just not sure how much additional smugness a lexus gives you over a land cruiser. The LC sumg factor is already pretty high.

That Lexus badge is worth at least this* much smugness.
*makes random-sized box shape in the air with arms*

Or save it for gas money LOL

Interesting they list it in the wiki article, also, wikipedia can see into the future and know that the 2016 4runner trail will have it?
