What's a "new one"? Autostick? That's what Chrysler calls their manual-mode (Tiptronic-style) automatics.

I've always referred to the "manual mode" on my 01 CL Type S's auto as "auto stick." It's nice to have but it's kind of lame, since you can't make it go into first, unless you floor it in second gear. It also automatically shifts from first to second. I can get around this by putting it in "1". It's fun as hell to floor it in "1" after gently cruising to 4000 RPM. The car's pretty much immediately in its optimum rev range and it goes like stink. Pretty funny to do on unsuspecting passengers. Anyone know if I'm going to damage my trans doing this?
The entire car can be kind of shifted like a sequential manual using "1" and "2" to force it into those gears. D3, D4, and D5 however simply limit the transmission to no higher those respective gears. Its one of the few cars I've seen with this capability in an automatic transmission. BTW, example pic of my shifter (this pic has the shift lock cap removed for some reason, not my car):

Not as bad as the DCT shifter in my BMW 135is. I call it the potato chip. Of course, the transmission itself is 100x better than a torque converter automatic.
