And yes it is what you think it is. Anybody got a spare $100k I can borrow?

It's a Z432, It might be a Z432R but I'm not sure. (If not then it's done as a replica of one)
It has a rare desirable engine (the s20), and less than 500 were built.

That's just an insane amount of money. I mean, I get it, but come on. My 71 240z cost 6k.

Yeah, I know...it is an insane amount.
You can get a cheap '69 Camaro. Or you can go big and get a COPO or something special. I see it as the same thing.

They made about 420. Is that why it costs so much? I couldn't imagine putting down 100k for one. It's probably all about it being special

I think it's a 432R or a replica. I can't imagine putting down 100k for one.

Yeah, that's the key. It's really all about the engine. If you're into it...this is the one.

You could also just get a standard Z and an OS Giken motor for the remaining $98k. Those are also twin cam, rev to 9k, and make double the horsepower of this thing.

That's a Jesus-Titty-Fucking-Christ Z432-R, built as a homologation special. "4" valves per cylinder, "3" carbs and "2" cams. It took the engine out of this:
The original KPGC10 GT-R.
The race car 2.0L engine was paired with lightened body panel and a host of other racing modifications to make it weigh 2110lb and become competitive in rally racing. Here's a fairly in-depth article on the Z432-R and why it's so amaziballs .

You're right...I don't know which I would rather have...
If it was an original OS Giken head then probably that. If it was one of the re-releases, I'd take the S20!

Yep, that's it! I was amazed to see it pop up at the auctions.

I'd imagine it to be not too difficult to pull the same numbers out of a normal 280z.

I think that'd be my preference too. But realistically, if I had a hundred grand to throw at an old Z, I'd basically just go the Singer 911 route and go for an insane restomod.

Yeah, but it's not about that. A new Camry can perform better than a lot of old performance cars...doesn't have the same soul though.
It's an amazing piece of engineering. The Japanese were on par with their European counterparts of the time, and well ahead of the US in several areas. We just didn't get the cars with the good tech.
That's why it's special to me...and it makes an amazing noise!

You must tell me more about this OS Giken.

Yes, but is the noise worth 100k? I would imagine that a modded 280z could emulate the feel of the 432.

Why buy a Ferrari 250 GTO when a new one is cheaper and performs better?
You can't mod history into a car...

I was wrong, 10k rpm, and it makes 420hp@9000rpm.
