As someone who drives a full size P/U (and a motorcycle), I can tell you that even when not marked for "Compact Cars", the spaces are not sized for full size vehicles. The number of parking spots in a given development are decided by the zoning authorities in the local area. If the required number of spaces for the square footage of retail is not quite up to code, then they just make them smaller and closer to the next row so they can add more spaces which makes it very difficult to get a full size vehicle in or out of.

well but in that parking lot there were bigger spaces that didnt say compact, i was driving a rental chevy suburban and parked where it fitted nicely

EVERYONE parks their giant trucks in that lot! Hate it.
