So, how often do you have to charge the key?

I'd like to know if the key function works when the battery is empty.

im sure its charged everytime you use it, and that it only shows this info when you press a button, I bet this key lasts for weeks at a time, if you didn't drive it that is. Heck, turn off all the radios on a phone and they last forever on one charge.

I'd be willing to bet there's a CR2032 just for unlocking and keyless start. It would be even nicer to find out there's a induction charging slot/tray in the car.

Your incredible i8 will wirelessly charge your key for nary a cost at just 40% of the car's range.

Well, my simple E46 key ran me about $180, I can't imagine what this guy will cost to replace.

Is this the button that slows the passage of time?

Welcome every one the the new i Phone. We practically changed everything this time. Gone are the IOS updates and and Facebook and Twiter integration and other icons everything has been replaced with just 3 buttons. Why do you need face time when the phone is integrated into the new i8, yes for the i8 we went completely back to the drawing board and we had to re imagine what a phone should do. Instead of standing in one place and talking to people we decided driving to the other person was better.....

I wonder if you can play Chao Adventure on the key?

That's cool, I like that. I'm sure someone on here will moan that it's not a traditional key, but the i8 isn't a traditional car (in looks or powertrain), so this fits with the car well and is useful beyond opening it too.

I figure it will be nice for when you stop somewhere with a charger for dinner/shopping/etc. Might vibrate, beep, or something to let you know charging is complete.

The real question is where is the damn watchband?

I am figuring out how to make such a key work on my car, because I want it.
I would assume it has inductive/dock charging based on how it sits in the car.
A unique key for a unique car. I'm not as mad, I haven't had a 'key' in years so its easier for me to accept that keys themselves are becoming a thing of the past.
Except for when my remote battery dies. Then things get interesting.

That's brilliant.
Not just cool, actually useful too.
Is this going to replace the SLS or keep it company?

BMW probably wants to keep this unique to the i8.. but I would LOVE this as an option for its more mainstream models

What does this button do? Diamond mode? I totally want to drive in "diamond mode"

That phrase is patented by Apple. The patent enforcement squad will arrive shortly to take you to a re-education center.

They tried this on the GBA, from what I remember. This does require Sonic Advance, but you can still have your Chao on the go... Provided you don't accidentally turn it off or run out of battery.
