For the Lord said unto Hammerheadfistpunch, "Yea, if you shall, encounter two dually vans before sundown, take it as a sign, my son, to acquire one for yourself and swap a holy 383 Stroker into the engine bay and hoon like a Philistine in the Home Depot parking." So let it be written, so let it be done. Amen.

Are they that uncommon in the US? In my part of Europe I see many times more dually vans than pickups of any size, dually or not.

I noticed that when I was in Germany, but isn't that just because more of your vans are made that way? Nearly all of ours have four tires standard.

They have both normal and dually options with equal popularity, so maybe there are a lot more duallies here because they are used instead of HD pickups.

They aren't just made that way, as I imagine it's a pricey option that's only useful if you intend to actually use it. I think it has more to do with, as a broad generalization, where an American uses a pickup for work a European uses a van.

It's an heavy duty axle. Renault, for example, offers the same axle as they do on their larger trucks.
They offer those axle because we do everything with vans, from just transporting stuff to towing huge loads, just like Americans and trucks.
Not the same power as well. The biggest engine we get in the Fiat/Citroën/Peugeot Ducato/Jumper/Boxer (you have it as a RAM ProMaster) is a 175 hp/300 lb.ft 3.0l diesel.

It's odd to see a regular van with a dually rear end, but it's a pretty simple conversion from single wheeled to dually on E-vans.
