A week ago Gary Anderson wrote !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! interesting piece adding to the string of speculation pieces about what Red Bull have been doing. The kicker? His piece had nothing to do with exhaust, or kers, or TC, or engine maps — it had to do with the car's unusually high amount of rake and how they may be able to make it effective.

Well, it would seem the FIA took note and tested these theories. Result — !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

In his article Gary does not suggest that this breaks any rules, if the FIA wanted to outlaw what was being done then they probably would have to introduce a new regulation.

"Innovative" and "bending the rules" are running a very close line here. As I know it does in all automotive ventures. However, as has been stated before these companies are really starting to ruin the game. What was once a signet of good drivers with good teams is now nothing but an engineers playground.

I hope eventually they get found out and I hope whatever it is, that it becomes either banned or part of the design for all cars.

I never said that it would have run afoul of the rules either — only that they tested the theory.

Just wondering why the FIA would test. If they found it acted as suspected, then I don't think they could announce the fact, just that it passes regulations, only when something fails do they tend to explain why.

This is interesting. I don't want it to be a spec series but damn the same guy winning a race every time is boring. i don't care ho far ahead of the curve they are technology wise. I stopped watching F1 after it seemed Vettel would take the championship and he did. Especially after Singapore. The amount of distance he put on the other cars in the field I didn't care if he was cheating or just really good. It made it not fun to watch.

How would they vary the heat applied or removed to/from the bracket (more like bimetallic spring) so fast that this would work while the car is at speed. Or does this only affect the car as its heat soaking on pole while everyone else is gridding up? Could that explain the lap 1 speed Seb is know for? I doubt it. I like the TC concept and the fact that everyone saw the writing on the wall long ago about this years championship and gave up on this season to concentrate on the 2014 cars.
