Today has just been a massive load of WOW! At 10am this morning my son and I arrived at Lotus where we were treated to a factory tour, an hour on track in an Exige S and a slap up lunch.
Lotus is officially the friendliest car company I have ever met. I've got loads of photos of the factory and the cars and an onboard video of two laps of the test track with one of the development drivers talking us round.
My son even got a few laps of the track, in the passenger seat of course. That's him in the photo.
We were there four hours and all the time we weren't on track a Lotus 97T F1 car with a Lambo V12 was pounding round. You could hear it through the whole site

How would you compare the current Exige S to the previous model? I've never driven a Lotus but I'm curious how an Exige would feel with a V6 instead of an inline-4.

I've no idea. That's the first Lotus I've ever driven. Happily it won't be the last

Back in the day, the Porsche 944 was seen as the straight-line speed option. If you wanted a car to really carve corners, you would buy the mid-engined Matra Murena.
