Take a car. Have the germans decide how it should handle. Have the italians decide what it should look like, and what the interior should be like. Have the americans design the engine. Have the Japanese bolt everything together.
What do we have? A beautiful car with an amazing interior, awesome handling on the street and the track with a torquey engine that makes all the horsepowers with no sacrifice in MPG. An italian exotic that will never self immolate. An american engine with japanese build quality. European handling without the european repair bills.
It will never happen of course, but if it did, I think only such a beast could be worthy of the title 'global supercar'.

First thing that came to mind was a VW bug with a leather interior, 7 liter V8, and more electronic gizmos than a Tesla. I really need my morning coffee.

Will you have the Chinese mass produce the parts? Or wait for them to make a clone?

Ahem. We've had some nice cars come out of the U.K. Most Formula 1 cars, Lotus, Bowler, Caterham, Morgan etc... sure they are niche market vehicles in many respects but never under estimate a Brit in a shed at the bottom of the garden, we can do some impressive engineering. P.S. the Ford GT40. Your welcome. :)

I agree, but you'll never live this down.
if nibbles ate pic, lucas electronics, 'nuff said
I would choose you guys for handling over the Germans for sure.

No pic, but you mention Lucas so my guess would be the jar of smoke of something like that. :) Ye, we know a little about handling. My dad worked for Malcolm Wilson at his SAAB dealership at Caldewlees, Carlisle before he went solely into motorsport out at Cockermouth.

You have Gordon Murray, Adrian Newey to design some sweet sweet carbon fiber, aerodynamic love machine. Mmmmm carbon fiber.
