Seeing !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! justifying my love for my old Marantz stereo, figured I would post on one other thing I own that is a classic, and is more automotive than most appliances. This would be my 1949 Chambers model 90C stove. Things are great, lots of features like a range top broiler and griddle, and an insulated "Thermo-well" to make soups, fry stuff, bake stuff etc. Enameled steel and chrome top. It is a thing of beauty. Took me 5 months to find one, and I didnt pay the 15 large people seem to get for them. Like an old Benz you can pull apart every piece of it to rebuild, valves, hinges, burners. YES Rachael Ray has one, a fact pointed out to me by the back woods gent I hired to help me heft all 600 lbs of it into my kitchen. It is a 37" range, so when I built the kitchen, I had to plan for it. Enjoy. Since added a SS hood above it, and it is complimented by a 1969 Sub Zero fridge.

I never knew I had a thing for 1940's appliances until now.

I didnt either till I built a kitchen and realized the lifespan of Wolf parts is 5 years, then they swap out so you cant fix it...

I have not eaten breakfast and you tempt me with all those vittles. I should post a photo of my garage stereo. A Pioneer model 300 with Wharfedale speakers. Both out of the late 60's. Still sounds good.

And a great sadness pervades humanity as (older) more heartily-built (typically bullet-proof AND easily repairable) mechanicals are replaced by craptastic toss-away-ables. We shall all be much, much sadder for this!

Old appliances were so beautiful looking. Now they just look like appliances.
