Never spend your precious time trying to formulate a cogent argument for exercising caution with the development of automated cars, especially if it's a FP article on the Google self-driving car. It'll get re-posted to Gizmodo and the Google fanboys (didn't know such a thing existed) will come out of the woodwork, ignore all of your facts and logic, and call you an idiot for not welcoming our Google overlords. It doesn't matter if you have years of experience operating state of the art automated equipment in the real world, they know how to use an iPad so they know better than you.

Facts and logic are relative.

You gotta speak their lingo.Every other automated car will have somebody trying to mess with its brain.
At least I think Star Trek is still hip among Googlites.

Yes, I have learned such lessons. Also there are a few people who REALLY like touch screens and electronic parking brakes. Never again.

Well...no, that's what makes them facts and logic, they don't change because of your point of view. However, what people think are facts and logic can change from person to person. Hence creationists and anti-vaxers.

It's "hip" but only ironically so.

I wondered why so many people were taking my tongue in cheek post so seriously.
