Here is a 76 formula 400 one of my friends had... He tore out the horribly built 400 and dropped in a 350 SBC
and here it is getting hauled to the dump in the back of a 88 k1500, which later met the same fate

You make terrible friends! That thing looks so clean! Just look at the rear section in the bed of the truck. No rust! Does things always rust! AND it was a Formula!, and a '76 at that! That makes it a semi-rare model! FUCK MAN!, Just FUCK!

that thing actually had really bad rot, which is why he scrapped it. he bought an 80 v6 car but later sold it as a roller, and bought a 79 z28 that he did a TPI 350 build and on a horribly tuned engine made it into the mid 13's.
I saw the 76 in person. On the plus side, it was a 4spd manual with open headers, on the down side, the window was held in with mighty putty. It was not a solid car, it sat in a driveway in CT for 10 years before my friend tried to drive it back to maryland ,and it made it all of 2 miles before it died.

IDK 2 miles after sitting for 10 years ain't too bad, I'm surprised that it even ran... SEE?! It wanted to live, and he killed it! (sob)
Also didn't know that they made a v6 for the Firebird for the 1980 model year... And also; His "horribly tuned" z28 would probably smoke my bird any day of the week (more sobbing).

here's the 80's motor in his pickup bed
It was supposed to be a parts car, but then as he tore into it, he found out the body on the 80 was cleaner than the 76 by a lot. So he started to build that up, until he found the 79 z28 which was cleaner than both. So he sold the 80 off as a roller and kept the 79. He sold the 79 off last year to his neighbor who now has half the car held together with rivets and fiberglass.

I actually thought you were wrong and meant an I6, but there it is; a v6 from an '80... Can't argue with that, I'll see myself out.
And holding a car together with rivets and fiberglass?! That's a bitch'in racecar right there :P

the motor which was a brand new zz4 crate motor at one time, has like 100 helicoils in it. He also bought these gigantic 1 3/4" generic headers that didn't quite fit so he "made" them fit. He also spent all day (literally hours) trying to drop the engine into the car, my friend went over and had it installed in 15minutes.
He's not the smartest when it comes to working on cars, but it keeps him out of the house and away from his wife who spends all his money anyways.
He once threw out (literally) a BRAND NEW never before run hooker aerochamber exhaust, that ended up on my friends old 89 trans am. He also gave my friend a brand new, never before run set of ZZ4 heads. He likes to buy things then never use them and buy more things to replace them. He buys whatever the local speedshop says is good.

you could probably build a motor from all the crap his neighbor has given away or thrown out.
