Kinja'd!!!

Been a pedestrian for a few months now and I'm getting tired of it. Been looking at getting me a nw car and this seems to tick all the boxes. 2006, upgraded stereo, 70k miles, Vector Sport package. Manual. Cheap road tax and insurance.

Kinja'd!!!

Has anyone had any experience with these? Google tells me the 1.9 has some issues, but no more than other cars and less than most common rails. I've worked quite a bit on the body side with these cars and they seem very sensible. Engine is a FIAT contraption, I believe, so spares shouldn't be a massive problem.

It's a bit pricey, but the mileage is low and if it's in great condition I might just consider getting it. EXCITED NOW.

Kinja'd!!!

I have the same shifter in my car.

I hate it.

My only complaint.

Hahaha. I'm not picky about that at all but I'll definitely take notice of it now that I've been made aware of it.

Reverse can be a bastard to engage.

The numbers get filled with dirt and look like shit not long after meticulously cleaning it with a tooth brush and tooth pick.

It doesn't always feel like its moving correctly....I'm just super picky.

Otherwise that car looks solid, and since I'm from the states I've never dealt with the Euro model, BUT the states they are fun little wagons, as all Saab Wagons are. Minus the Turbo engines mixing up the antifreeze and tranny fluid.

I wish! Sadly, they start honking and flailing their arms and flashing the lights and arresting you if you drive on the correct side of the road over here.

I love old Saabs, the 900 is one of my Favorite Cars Ever, but after GM took them over the love was gone.

Still, it's really hard not to like this car. Nice metallic blue, aero, and it is, after all, a manual diesel wagon, which earn you maximum Jalop Points.

Anti Freeze and tranny fluid, actually. wow. I know the petrol engines had some lubrication issues as well.

About the shifter, now that you say it, I saw a car ad that had a close-up of the shifter that looked really worn and I went "Gosh! This car must have been driven as a taxi", but it only had 80k miles.

Still, in a daily driver, as long as I can row my own I'll be happy as a sea cow in a seaweed field.

I'm happy with my car. My only complaint is the Shifter. And gas mileage, and the absurd power delivery, and the fact I can't go WOT til 3 gear and the fact my tires only last a month or so ....There is a lot more...but...I'll stop lol

But yeah in the states we ONLY had the gas models, cause Diesel is evil, anything without spark plugs should not exist.

Diesel also saves a lot on road tax and even though the diesel itself is more expensive, the mileage still means savings. Common Rails can be hella finnicky, but with a little help from the italians, this one should be fine.

Also yeah, gm.. The problem there is more the technology. I really love the design on the later SAABs.

Hah! I'll assume the gas mileage, WOTs in third and short tire life is caused by the nut holding the wheel.

No its caused by the engine.

Which the throttle input is controlled by the teen at the wheel o.o

If I WOT in first or second I can't find grip, third it struggles, but manages lol
