I don't know what to say ...
EDIT : I've had the pleasure of seeing this plane in person a number of times , and the beauty and power never ceased to amaze me .

Sad news. They use this to give $2k flight experience. Hope this wasn't with a customer.

I've been getting updates all day on my phone from this story, haven't had time to read up on it until now. Sad.

I know it's a single-engine, two-fatality GA accident, but given the high profile of a P-51 crash, I'm surprised the NTSB didn't launch a team.

Oh, that is sad. Any loss of life is very sad. A loss of of one of the most advanced fighters in its time is terrible. The loss a a WWII plane breaks my heart.

I got to see her a couple of times in the hangar at the Lone Star museum ... beautiful plane . I had actually hoped to take a ride in her one day . my thoughts are with the families and friends of those onboard .

I handle pain with comedy so take the following with a grain of salt...
But maybe a WWII vet went up with the pilot and then had a flashback and lost is biscuit? It's always sad to hear about these crashes, especially when it was something small like this. Not like you have much of chance when critical failure happens in a personal plane like these.

It looks like this is the second time it's been crashed, the first time in 1974. I doubt that the first incident led to any fatalities.
Absolutely sad for their families.

Very sad, thoughts go to the families of the pilot and passenger.
I have seen the Galveston Gal a few times up close and the loss of such a historic piece of history is just as unfortunate.

People are priceless and irreplaceable, and historic warbirds are as well. How sad for everyone involved.
