The parking lot at my school, quite frankly, blows. There's never any parking, ever. As a result, it's absolutely impossible to avoid some of the idiocy that occurs. Usually it's the odd double-parking incident involving hilariously small cars. Don't want to get to class early, but still want a space? Put out a cone the previous day and double park! Like this:
Late for class? Why not take up two spots with your Civic! Like this:
Recently however, a new challenger has appeared! This fella, or perhaps, uhhh, whatever the female form of fella is, has begun terrorizing our lot. This is the latest victim:
See what I mean? How do you even get out? I don't even know. This is the first time I've documented this nonsense, but I plan on updating you guys with my misadventures involving this maroon Sienna. That poor, poor Audi. Explains the door dings on my poor, poor GTI though. I ain't even mad though, just frustrated. /endrant

In high school, I always parked in the far end spot in the first row. I went there early, so I usually got it. But one semester, this kid started parking his Solara in my space.
So I found a huge log and put it in the spot after cross country practice one day. The next morning, it was still there and that kid was parked a space over. SUCCESS. I just dragged the log out to the grass and parked. I kept doing this. I think he caught on, but was too lazy to get out and move it.
Moral of the story: I'm a douchebag

I always took the early morning class, so I was usually able to park in a nice spot in the smaller lot, which was not quite so full of idiots.

This "school" as you call it is clearly full of idiots.

I know Exactly how you feel, it really is frustrating that these people have been driving for over 5 years and still dont know how to park. I live at my school and I have to deal with idiots all the time. I'm sorry for the poor photo quality because it was a shit day and it's the only picture I have of my car parked at school. I took this picture to show a friend the lengths I go through to make sure no one gets too close. I trade off this spot with some pretty awesome friends here, so I'm not too worried about it but the effort I have to go through to keep my car safe at college is incredible. I park next to a handicap spot and get as clost to the line as possible. The "handicap" person parked there now to me seems completely capable and has no disability, the licence plate is normal too. So I think she is cheating the system, plus she parks like a fool.

It's always hit or miss with those spots. Sometimes folks don't have visible disabilities, but walking long distances can be both exhausting and painful. So I tend to reserve judgment. That all being said, I try my best to find a spot that is well shielded, if possible.

I always got there shortly after the early classes started. But a few of my friends and I just went to the cafeteria or our coach's room and did homework... I hardly ever did homework at home.

That's true with visual disabilites, but a 5,6' girl with my estamet of 130 ish pounds and made the girls soccer team doesn't look like someone with a problem... haha, but I completely understand what you're getting at.

Lol I know how it is. I had to deal with school parking for 7 years. Office parking isn't much better. I have a recent post on that actually: http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/my-parking-lot…

At least you have a parking lot! For a few years, we used a space in the middle of school, that was full of gravel. There weren't any lines to divide parking spaces, so by the time it got full, people would just park behind you, leaving your car, trapped. Imagine, getting out of class so you could go to work just to find your car sandwhiched, left/right/front/back! Of course, moving about the "parking lot" meant scratching your car because you only had 2 inches of clearence between two lines of parked cars. And could forget about getting out at lunch time, 'cause there was only one way in and out, at a time. And everybody just had to leave at the same time.
