Taking it to another level, way, way above RWB wide body.
All I can say is 'Whoa.'

I will never understand widebody kits. 99% of the time, they don't need the wide tires and are just causing the car to have terminal understeer with the super staggered set up.

Agree!

True, but it's oh so bad ass looking, especially on rally cars.

That's a lot of meat on them bones.
Wouldn't having that much extra unsprung weight negatively affect handling?

Gotta go against the OPPO grain today. Hell, I'm even going against my OWN personal function over form design philosophy this time. Because (and this is my own opinion, feel free not to flame me, you've got your opinions and I'm not going to change your mind EITHER...lol)... because, not *every* driver tracks his 911. Just like most diesel, turbo, 1200 lb/ft, huge-tire, lifted and skid plate equipped bro-trucks ever do more than trawl the mall parking lot looking for high school girls.
This is the Porsche equivalent of the bro-truck and I say, if that's your thing, go for it. I'm not paying your car payment (or funding your mod budget) so do what makes you happy. Whatever orthodontist, tax attorney or nouveau riche, trust fund college grad is building it probably lusts after the aesthetic that only a monster tire, wide-body 911 can bring to the table.
They are just f*cking. bad. ass. It's going to look like sex when it's done (IMO, again) AND... if he throws a few bucks in power mods to complement the appearance mods... it'll hook up and be wicked from a stop light to stop light, or your typical 20(ish) mph roll up the on-ramp to merge on the freeway.
So, would I spend my money to build it? No . In fact my current (and evolving) ride was/is putting a hair over 750 whp to the pavement and unless you were behind it ( to spot the 18x11 modded oem wheels, wrapped up in 345/35/18 Mickey Thompson ET Street II's. ) ...you'd likely, and reasonably, think the car was stock. The sum total of all that is basically, a car that goes pretty much unnoticed which is what I want. Until I mash the pedal on the right and things get really intense, really quickly. lol
Ok, I'll wrap this up now because the "I'll cut this off now to keep a long story short" boat. has. already. sailed ! *shrugs* hahaha Hey, what can I do... sorry. lol

I agree. I don't judge people with bro trucks and I don't judge people with widebody cars. No way to know if they track their car unless you talk to them. And even if they don't then who cares? At least they are into cars.
I'd rather people be into bro trucks without going off road or sports cars without going to the track than have everyone buy Camrys. An enthusiast is an enthusiast, whether he or she goes off road or to the track or not. Without enthusiasts to purchase cool cars and after market parts both of these things will die. There are not enough people that use their cars for what they were intended for to keep the "fun" part of the auto industry alive.

Putting this particular car aside are you against all widebody setups in general, or just widebody kits that allow for wider wheels without modifying other components of the car?
It's true that just flaring fenders and attaching wheel spacers or wider wheels can have a negative impact on handling. But it's not true that a properly setup widebody conversion will make the car worse.

But on rally cars they are for function, which makes them super sexy. I am not saying they are ugly, I just cannot get behind something that somewhat ruins a car. . . still not as bad as hellaflush.

If it is properly set up, if it actually helps the car handle better or in some cases a car with a lot more power. For example, the Rocket Bunny kit on the FRS is unneeded. Most people have 300 hp on those cars with that kit. Unless you have 600hp, then there is no need for 305 section rear tires.

I want a supercharged 700 HP BMW E92 M3 with a properly setup widebody conversion.
Now that would be a fun track car and a proper use of fat tires.
