Jalopnik hates these for some reason. About 50 of the originals were painted one color because they weren't selling, which makes me sad.

Yup, it's a thing that exists...

you can feel really cool with one of those, though. because it's 1/50.

But it'd just be a solid color MkIII Golf......

Those were real quirky cars. Only have seen one. You can tell them folks are from Minnesota, eh. Never get out in the sun.

Oh a Harlequin. There is one of those in Edmonton. I see it on my favorite bike riding route. There are pretty rare.

I've only seen one and it was in Oahu, Hawaii. Very good head-turner. Price-wise, NP.

Because it is ugly, and looks like a junk car. It's not even a GTI, iirc.

but YOU'D know it was a single color harlequin. and they're not terrible platforms for mods.

That's quite subjective, to be fair. Plus, mk3's were never stunners, except to VW fanboys (before I was one), the same people who would recognize a harlequin for what it is.
To each his own.

I'd repaint it to harlequin colors. Fuck the po-lees

Harlequin Vw, I think they did Vanagons too, but must of been just a VW lover up here.

*begins bragging like a hipster*
I'm betting I'm the only Opponaut who's driven one of these when they were new.
*end of brag*
I worked at a VW dealer in the '90s. We had one in stock, IIRC it was a green base colour. They're cool and all, and I like them, but I don't think I could rock one.
