Kinja'd!!!

I shall now show you the interiors of the 2015 C Class and the 2014 Ford Fusion (but really, the floor is open to all cars that approach the C Class in price, I'll even throw in a A4 because that would be a direct competitor)

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I can't be the only one who thinks Mercedes (and BMW) are going the wrong way in how their new interiors are shaping up? What with the stick on infotainment screens and general weirdness. I don't know, but to me that doesn't look particularly luxurious or refined, hell the Fusion seems more upscale.

The Benz looks like someone retrofitted an iPad onto the dash. And the joystick thing looks like a wilted flower. Those are some pretty red seats though. :)

I think the merc looks way nicer than the fusion. The audi doesn't look great in there, but I really like MMI so I could live with the styling if for that alone. It could use a bigger screen.

I can't see why anyone would be bothered with the C-class' interior.

I'm torn. I like the minimalist, retro, look of the Merc... but I hate the infotainment thing sticking out of the dash. If it's pulled into the dash when not in use and you can use the stereo/hands free without it, I'm fine with it. If not, that is a bizarre design choice.

that's what the bimmer looked like to me, like someone just stuck a sideways iPad on the dash lol

The Merc looks cheaper.

Who actually likes stick on displays? Cause I didn't like it in the 3 series, I didn't like it in the CLA, I didn't like it in the A3. It screams cheapness.

Now that you've said that, I am seriously wondering if it isn't just iPad Minis as the screens...

I like it, clean and elegant, the way a merc should be.

WAAYYY better than their last gen crap.

Maybe to YOU it looks cheaper, but to me, taken on the whole, it looks nicer. I'd agree that I could do without the stick on display, but I prefer literally everything else about it. The steering wheel, the dashboard itself, the air vents, the seats, the center arm rest, the controls under the center vents...all of it looks significantly nicer than the Ford to me.

Maybe it's not stick on

Maybe it comes sliding out of the dashboard

I like the minimalizm. The new Merc interior looks like a really upscale NC miata with a great infotainment screen, not a bad thing really... I miss my NC...

Kinja'd!!!

I think the Audi system has too many buttons in too many places, my wife has a Q5 and its pretty much the same as the A4

Its just like the CLA, its stuck on.

Pedantically, its bolted and secured but the first time you see it, its like someone forgot to include a screen in the design of the interior and randomly shoved it in after.

It looks like the centre console prolapsed. It doesn't look like something I want to touch.

I like it, it would be cleaner without the nav tablet thing, but it is very classy, very minimalist and you know will have a better feel to it than the Ford. The Ford is generic, but nice, and the Audi to me looks very dated (but should have a fit and finish feel equal to the Benz.) Beyond the nav thingy, I think it looks very well done and fits their design ques from their other vehicles (SLK comes to mind.)

Electric Shaver/gearshift?

Yeah, I think it's much more elegant and better designed, the way everything flows and is flush (excluding the "floating tablet" screen, the only eye-sore). It reminds me of the mid-life redesign of the Range Rover sport where they got rid of half the buttons and made everything more minimalist. I hated the new design to begin with, but I've come to appreciate interiors that are simplified without loss of usefulness. I like the C-Class interior...A LOT.

Of the three pictured here, I'd chose the merc. The Audi I want to like because MMI is great (in my opinion), but there's too many buttons for the AC, that complicates the dash unnecessarily.

I'm a big fan of simplified designs as well; Mercedes seems to be heading that way. Ford pretends that they have simplified , but all they've really done is turn all the buttons into touch buttons.

This is where Volvo's amazing 2014 interior comes in.

The seats are better than those on all of these cars.

The electronic speedo/center readout has three ambient colors based on the driving mode.

The gearshift is smooth and nice.

The Sensus touchscreen is recessed and thereby NOT made the center of the dash, instead;

The elegant waterfall dash with controls is subtly tilted toward the driver for ease of using controls and resting his or her eyes on the brushed aluminum.

Plus, the long-awaited paddle-shifters are finally available on the S60!

No obtrusive faux wood trim or giant resistive touchscreen or weird dash or unwieldy gearshift knob to mess things up.

Like this.
