What can I say about this car that hasn't already been said about Mt. Everest. It's hard to climb (into), tends to move sluggishly, and has huge wheels. Ok maybe just the climbing bit has to do with Everest. But regardless, I love this tank.
The idea was to go to the CCC, with a couple of friends, the girlfriend, and go apple picking in upstate NY. Needless to say, apple season is pretty much over, and apparently apple picking has become a phenomenon unlike any I have ever known. So, no apples. But we did get pumpkins, so that was cool. But once again, I digress.
To say this car is civil, well mannered, or compliant in any way would be ridiculous. This car has a personality. It does not liked to be messed with or run hard, and it told me that the whole time. The car talked to me. It said: "Don't push me or I'll kill you." Ok. No problem. So now that we've established that this car is a cruiser, let's rate it as a cruiser.
In the city, at slow speeds, it actually does quite well. The vague steering and thud, thud, thud of the 302 v8 brings smiles to everyone's face, and kids freggin love it. My girlfriend hated it. She was nautious and had a headache by the end of the 2 hour ride. We had also been cruising at highway speeds in fall weather in NY and it was slightly cold this weekend. The car struggles above "50 mph." I put that in quotes because I don't believe the speedometer.
Let me just be honest. This isn't much a review, and the reason is if you reviewed this car in any sort of normal fashion, you're just not getting it. You know who owns bronco's? Guys who want to pick up girls (believe it or not, chicks love a bronco), or awesome dad's. I can't imagine a car better to entertain a child. When I have a kid, I will buy a bronco, and drive them to school in this. He'll be the coolest kid in school for it, and me the coolest dad. Why is it cool? Because truck. That's why.

I have one almost identical to that (white hardtop, larger motor, rear facing back seat) and kids at car shows love it. I don't mind letting the kids climb in and out and pretend like they are driving backwards in the rear seat. It's when adults do it that it gets weird...
