I've never driven the Mirage, but I can state that my old bone stock mk2 Golf with (when new) 54 hp could cope with the unrestricted German Autobahn just fine. This was last year, when it was 21 years old and had nearly 300k on the odo. I obviously kept to the right lanes, but it did 130 kmh just fine for hours on end. Measured (GPS) top speed was 151 kmh.
74 hp in such a light car (less weight than my Golf) should be fine. Not fun, but perfectly adequate.

Well, it's small so I guess it's enough power. The VW Polo is a bigger car and you get that with a 60hp engine. They're not fast, but fast enough.
It's called the Space Star here btw, not very fitting as it doesn't have much space and isn't a star..

I drove the Renault Captur and praised everything but the engine which I called a puny turd. Renault got the hump and won't talk to me at the moment. Funny thing is that was a video review and has had 16,000 hits. Oops

900 CC, 88 hp. 1400 lbs seats four 15.9 lbs/hp
1200 cc, 74 hp.. 2000 lbs seats five 27 lbs/hp.

The lowest hp car I've ever driven was 130-140 if memory serves me right .... the lowest hp car I've ever owned was 190. I don't understand how this thing will move.

It's all in the gearing. Gear the first few pretty low to get it up to speed and it'll be be just fine. I've driven all sorts of econoboxes with "OMG, THIS WILL KILL 'MERICA WITH ITS LACK OF HP FREEDOMS!" and did just fine merging onto the highway.

Just did a little research:
this car has very low horsepower - Thats bad
But its very very light (between 1950-2030 lbs) - that's good
But that still means only
.037 hp/lbs - Thats bad
But you can get it with your choice of transmissions - thats good
The car is universally panned in the media in markets where it has been available....

There was a Mitsu Mirage in this same color at the Seattle Auto show last week. It was locked, sitting all by its lonesome, at the end of the exhibition hall, with no Mitsubishi signage around it. Quite odd.

The 190sl was made in a very different time, where I don't think daily cruising at 80mph was a thing.
Also that REALLY puts this mirage in its place, I just looked and apparently there was only 1 mercedes with less hp in the 50's. Holy crap that is sad.
EDIT: looks like the van had less hp too ... but thats still only 2 cars.
