Half the page is unused. Dead space is ok to an extent but seriously, half the page? Pictures are small; when page is zoomed in, the proportions are atrocious. I mean, if I did such a piss-poor job at my workplace, I'd be on the streets with a begging bowl. Of course, we don't pay gawker, so we shut up :)

No, you see, we DO pay gawker. In views. In clicks. If we didn't exist, they wouldn't exist.
So they really need to step up their game, or continue having waves of readers leave. I left for a while a bit back when kinja came out, the made it at least functional , though unpleasant, so I came back because I like the people and idea of oppo. If they continue shitty support and terrible redesigns, I'll likely leave again.

Well. Im only sort of a junior/newbie web developer and i can only say that there are so many mistakes made here it looks like five year olds coded it.
Seriously.
I was about to write some stuff about layouts and what goes with what when it comes to content. And i probably will.
But i think its the best for now to plan something like US government shutdown. Gawker gets money from us, we leave for a day or so. Trust me, if we cut OPPO page views per day in half,
we will be getting our old semi-functional layout from few days ago.

You're right though. This site is riddled with shit code. It took them so damn long to support text input from my phone, and it was originally designed with mobile in mind.
