WARNING - THERE ARE LSPR SPOILERS IN THIS POST!!!! So last Friday I posted a " !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! " post and have to commend you all on your creative answers. The post was supposed to include a picture, but mobile Kinja. So today I will repost the picture along with a few more from my weekend. As for the Oppo achievements unlocked, I attended the LSPR (rally), met DustyVenture (Oppo IRL), and got a signed poster of Kenworth Blockenheimersen for the Finnlet. Actually a friend of the family got the signed poster at Saturdays Parc Expose which I didn't attend. I was at Fridays and it was mayhem what with the drivers meetings and last minute prep by everyone, so the drivers were busy and swamped by fans.

Here is the pic of Dusty's car which got Kinja'd on Friday.
Here is the Hoonigan himself taking a picture of his kids. Who just happen to be sitting on his wifes rally car. The guy sporting the Viking horns? That would be our very own DustyVentures.
Here we have eventual winner Dave Higgins getting some oppo on the first stage.
Mr. Block on stage 2 which was a repeat of stage 1. He had an off on Saturday and DNF'ed.
Dusty and the TRS car in action.
Finally some of the more unique cars that were running the rally including a Datsun 510, some Volvo brick action and a Pontiac - Mitsubishi Firearrow.
This is Lucy Block in the unicorn/rainbow/robot dinosaur with laser eyes liveried Fiesta.
And finally a shot of the podium Saturday evening.

I played Dirt3 and iRacing, which is a lot like what you did except 99% less cool. Looks like you had an awesome weekend.

Wish I could have made it this year. It's too bad they had to shorten the rally due to the government shutdown nonsense. Hopefully next year they'll have some really long stages again.
Thanks for the race summary.

Saw your post of the Lucy Block dino-robot/unicorn-rainbow and assumed you must have been there.

It was a good time. Got pelted with gravel a couple times, saw a car spin out right in front of us and stall half stuck in the ditch. The crowd was in full "c'mon, c'mon" chant when he was trying to restart it. And we erupted in cheers when he got it started and took off with full rally start clutch dump. If you ever get the chance to go see a rally it is well worth it.

I can't wait. Hoping to attend the next Nameless rally. If not, definitely the one after that.

Do it. And make sure to check out the Parc Expose. It is great because you can walk right up to the cars, and unless you show up when the drivers meetings are going on you would be able to talk to the drivers. Plus a lot of the teams will have posters and such to give away. And when I say walk right up to the cars, they stuff the posters under windshield wipers or have them stacked up on the roof for you to take. I wish I would have made it to the service park though.
Before you go make sure you check out the rally website. They will have key information such as stages, parking areas and times. Generally they list "first car due" times for everything. If you don't have that information you might end up spending a lot of time not seeing anything happen. Another very helpful thing is some local knowledge. If you aren't from the area, try to hook up with someone who is or has attended that particular rally before. That will make it much easier finding things as generally the rally stages tend to be backwoods affairs. The directions the rally gives are good, but nothing makes up for local knowledge.

Yep, been to LSPR three times now. It's always one of my favorite places to go see a rally race. I've marshaled at the first stage where you show Higgins and Block and other others. Always a great rally.
Too bad Brockway wasn't on the list.

I never got to watch a stage on Brockway. They were still running it a few years ago but it was closed to spectators. They haven't run any stages north of Hancock for a few years now and I have no idea why. Delaware was always a fun stage to watch too.

I've known a few people who have sneaked into Brockway, but as somebody who is usually a course marshall at Rally America races, I certainly can't condone such actions.
There's even video on Youtube of action on it. I wonder if anybody will ever beat Kyle Sarasin's record that he posted a few years ago, on gravel tires no less.

Wasn't that run faster than the RA average speed allowed? It seems like if you average over 80mph they penalize you, but it was a while ago that I remember looking at that.

Did attending inspire you to volunteer at all? I want to volunteer within a couple years.

I've thought about it in the past but never been motivated enough. Plus the decision to attend is usually pretty last minute. I think if I actually volunteered it would be worth it, but there is usually so much stuff going on that its easier not to volunteer.
