Today will be my first official day on the showroom floor as a salesman. I know I'll be personable, but I sure would love to be successful at this! Wish me luck Oppo!
Side note: Chevy's have many silly trim levels, that is all.

Good Luck!!
See if the management will let you test drive some of the products. You know, to increase product knowledge. Start with a Cruze Diesel. Then work your way up.

Have already driven the sonic, cruze (non diesel), traverse, equinox, and Camaro V6 (very peppy, that one)
Really liking them but looking forward to the cruze diesel as well as some more upscale driving, whether it be the 2014 Impala, the Camaro SS, or the ZL1 :P
EDIT: Obviously that was all in the name of science, and whatnot. ;)

A buddy of mine has a V6 Camaro, and it is nice. But I was expecting a bit more from it. I have a similar problem with the Jalopnik approved V6 Mustang. There is just that sense of "That's it?" when I drive either of them. Perhaps the V8 fixes that, but I wouldn't know yet.
Could also be that both were slushboxes (Camaro and Mustang). In which case I'm just too used to the third pedal in the Z4.

Good luck! Just something to keep in mind, sometimes too much product knowledge can overwhelm customers. As a Jalop we like to geek out on the specs, but to some people that is all Greek, just give them the basics and listen. I'm sure if you be yourself you will do just fine.

Make sure the A/C is off on those. When I took that V6 out for a drive, I got some amazing pickup out of it. The V6 in these produces around 300 hp.
You didn't hear it from me, but some crazy guy in training last week got some tire squeal out of one of those V6s without much effort at all. Also, that crazy guy didn't notice the HUD display until he got back and had to sit and play with the HUD in the parking lot for the next 15 minutes because of how disappointed he was in himself.

Thanks, I've got info out the wazoo right now and I realize that they probably don't want a 20 minute demo of the engine bay. This is def one of those things to avoid. :)

Like I said it is very important to listen to what the customer wants. If you ask them "What do you drive now?" and "Why are you looking to get something new?" Often that will reveal what their priorities are like "I need something with better gas mileage" or "My current car is too small." Tell them all the cool features but focus on those aspects that meet their priorities.

Does your dealership sell Volts? A lot of Volt buyers complain about how little the salespeople know about the car. There's a lot to know about all the different trim levels and options, good luck keeping them all separate!!! (no Auto 4WD in a Mailbu, okay?)

Yep we sell Volts! We currently have 1 on the lot but the salespeople avoid it and avoid talking about it...really strange lol
I personally would like to know more about them and will probably do some independent research.

Let me know if you have any questions. I could sell these things!
