I have a 1970 CB350. Did a complete restore and am down to the very final details. I've been riding the bike regularly for the last month to settle everything in from the engine rebuild. It had multiple issues to slowly work out including a charging issue, irradic idle, slightly rich condition, and a small leak out of the cam cover. All the 40 year old bike gremlins. After 100 miles or so since the rebuild, I decided today was the day to sort it out. I pulled the battery, charged it, adjusted the cam chain tensioner, set the valve clearance, replaced the cam cover gasket, set the points gap, did the timing, lubed everything, set the drive chain tension, cleaned and gapped the plugs and did a minor carb adjustment.

It's like a new bike.

Perfect idle, no more leaks, quiet valves, larger power band, higher top end rpm, happy engine. Powerful like a gorilla but soft and yielding like a nerf ball. Plus she's pretty.

I've mended something. Now to order the high output charging kit and ride into the sunset.

Anyone else have a good day of mending?

I put a new ESP/BAS module in my '99 Merc. Though that was really more of a case of unplugging one thing, and then plugging a new one in.

$1,670 dealer part found on e-bay for $59.99
