I replaced the front brakes and did an oil change on my mk3 jetta. 60$ for rotors and pads +20$ for oil and filter means I get to keep motoring for cheap while my audi comes together.

Great looking engine though. A successful day of work helps out a lot with keeping interest in a project.

Nothing car related today other than scheming in the direction of the Ranchero. Had a big day of body work on my cousin's Land-Rover yesterday, though.

Funny, I schemed on a Ranchero myself.

I:

Finished sorting out the new Pagid S / Hawk HP pad set on the Z4 (Started yesterday). It still has some working in to do, but that will sort itself out with miles. Squeals like the dickens when the rotors are cold, but hey: It's a track pad set! (And yes, I *did* use brake paste. Genuine Mercedes-Benz paste. On my BMW. Only opening up a few butthurt moments between Munich and Stuttgart)

Finished the last of the tech inspection and I really only need to get one part (Engine Compartment + Battery Terminal Cover), and that's if I feel spendy. Otherwise, I'll wrap it in electrical tape.

I get to go to the track on Friday! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Went to work and met a canadian family! They were pretty cool! It's rare that I see canadians since I live in louisiana.

Oh and apparently everyone at my job has seen Evangelion so we talked about that.

Nothing special, but I knocked out the 135K mile maint on Mrs McMike's appliance.

Cleaned air filter

Brake fluid flush

Oil change

I'll knock out the transmission fluid when I pick some up tomorrow

Then I tried to track down a odd interference issue with the aux input we have that goes through the factory cd changer interface with the stock head unit. I think the adapter is bad.

I also fixed the drain in bathroom back at mom's house, and spent two hours on the phone over there with Verizon troubleshooting SMTP SSL issues with their outgoing servers.

I moved my T/A and all its parts around the garage again. Trying to get it all packaged for winter so we can fit another vehicle in there. One of these days I'll do actual WORK on the car. Might start with POR-15'ing the rest of the front subframe, then onto finishing the floor patches.

Not nearly as much as I'd planned.

I had planned to flip the Spit's chassis over, weight it down, hook it to the winch and pull ti back into shape.

Instead, I drove around like a hooligan with my newfound loud exhausts:
