Speedhunters has you covered.
I posted this a few months ago but they've added to it since, just has really great tips and tricks and is a nice place if you want to start out in the black magic known as shooting cars.

I love taking photos, but I have 2 major problems:
a) Editing. The way things shape up nower days being a good photographer means being a good photoshoper. And I can't photoshop at all.
b) Opportunities. Not many events going on, and getting access on a racetrack is nearly impossible.

The most I do these days is Lightroom.
Photoshop in and of itself requires more time than I generally have and quite honestly, I can't photoshop for shit anyways.

Both apply to me too. I love taking photos, but there are restrictions.

Lightroom... tried it once, didn't like it. Isn't LR some sort of organisation software? I thought PS is for editing...

Light room is great for color correcting. You can also use it to organize and pull selects, which works well for me because I'm used to video software.

Lightroom is better for fixing photos. Use Photoshop if you want to completely alter a photo.

Victorious, I saw someone online post a photo of yours and I said I knew who took it. They'd like to give you credit but all I know is your Jalopnik username and I'd guess you'd want something that actually links to your photography and not your jalopnik profile :)
