But then again every arcade racing game with licensed electric cars is doing it...

I really do loathe the Free-to-play economies of some of these games.
On one hand, piracy is rampant to the point that any app can be had for free easily, on both 'droid and iOS. On the other hand...I mean...the Asphalt store has stuff in it that costs $50. Fifty. Dollars. Am I really gonna spend that much on a mobile game? A lot of times, progress isn't about how good you are at the game but how much you spend on it. I don't know how to feel about that as a life-long gamer.
Don't get me wrong though; game creators deserve fair compensation for their efforts. Programming, modeling and texuring, marketing, investing...some of these are life long skills, and I believe being making enough to support yourself and your family is fair trade for spend most of your day, everyday, forever, on praticing these skills. I just wish piracy wasn't destroying the buy-outright model on mobile systems. I'd gladly pay $20 for Asphalt 8.

GTA V is one of the only games to get it right. They have the Tesla Roadster and the Chevy Volt (called the Coil Voltic and the Cheval Surge respectively). Both models can't have a turbocharger, transmission change or ECU upgraded.
Oh, and they are both actually silent instead of some stupid fake Star Trek noise.

They also got the Prius (Dilettante) right- it starts off completely silent, then the engine kicks in when you pass a certain speed. It even has a CVT so it just hums all the way to top speed with no pauses.

If Audi or Tesla found out that their cars were in the same class as the Dart they would be quite angry.

Ha, didn't know that. Probably because I'd rather walk than carjack one.
