You know those cars that you wanted to buy as a kid, or that you drove and thought would be a silly investment and didn't buy? The cars that you look back on with superlatives, and had all the best characteristics of everything - the truly one-of-a-kind? Well, mine's up for sale again. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

That Legacy...I had one same generation but the wagon. For me it was "the one that got away" as well.

Oh wow, that is a sweet Legacy. But isn't 14k a bit much for a car that old?

I must admit that I love the 2005 generation, the design is just spot on. Going to look up how much they cost in germany, and I bet I woun't be able to afford one.

I don't think it counts as 'got away' until prices have gone through the roof or something. Is there any reason you can't buy it apart from not having a spare fifteen grand right now?

For me the one which got away is a Citroen DS decapotable - nearly bought one for about £5k or so about ten or fifteen years ago. They're now going for well over £100k...

It's a bad time, right before college, and with a working group of cars already (daily Civic, summer 635CSi, plus a shared proejct 635CSi with a friend), and I was planning on going through college with some kind of nice-ish but older daily. Plus not having a spare $15k, but without the project or the Civic, it would be possible. It comes down to timing this time. Before I thought it might be too much car for my age (it was a few years ago), plus a lot of pressure to take care of all the high-pressure mechanicals properly (it's a Stage 2 car professionally built and ready for Stage 3+, not that you'd know it from that ad). But I do have way more experience now, and would feel much more comfortable in it.

$14k is... fair. There are cars with 120k miles+ (Subarus tend to start consuming themselves at about 110k) that go for $16-$18k - prices are crazy. This is at 73k (was 59k three years ago - shit, shit, shit...), so much more life, and it's a professionally built Stage 2 car built to handle a much larger turbo and Stage 3+ equipment (not that you'd know it from that ad). It remains the best feeling car I've ever driven (and I work as a valet at a luxury resort in the winters, so I've gotten a chance to try quite a few interesting cars).

Not sure what prices are of LGTs abroad, actually. I can't imagine they're particularly common (they aren't here, but at least you do see them from time to time).

I have seen 2 in my lifetime. 1 at a Subie dealer, and another one in traffic. That's it. This country is ruled by Golfs, A4s and 320ds.

Just had a quick look at mobile.de , and they seem to be rather cheap. A 2.0R with LPG installation and 130k km starts at about 6 grand, but finding a higher powered one is impossible.

That's a beautiful car, but I'm quirky in that I'm not interested in Legacy GT's unless they're wagons, lol.

2004. 1990 E30 M3. Alpine White/Oxblood Red (whatever it's called). Seller motivated, but had trouble getting in contact with him after initial conversations. Tentatively settled @ $9500 for a quick deal when we got back in contact; did not hear back, someone bought it for $9500 a few days later. WWWWWHHHHHHYYYYY

Edit: And a clean title, two owners, 121k miles with some records. *tear*

Edit 2: Also, excellent condition; was being stored in a private warehouse. WWWWHHHHYYYYY

That all depends, what are you driving now?

A car that has gotten me a lot of connections and jobs, and taught me what I really appreciate about driving - a 1986 BMW 635CSi. I still regret not pursuing the Subaru when I first drove it, three years ago, but I'm glad I did. I now have the BMW, plus a Civic for winter and a project E24 shared with a friend, but even if they were in the same price range, I still wouldn't want to give up the Sixer, even in exchange for this wonderful, exquisite Legacy.
