Serviced the old LT1000 today. This is the second season that I've had it, and based on the condition I received it in, I knew the original owner didn't do anything to it. I decided to change the fuel filter and add a fuel shut off switch, as well as change the oil.
Taking off the old fuel filter kinda sucked but once it was off, the new one went on easy. I cut the rubber line and the shut off went in no problem.
+5hp, yo.
Draining the oil was easy enough too. There's a twist-and-push mechanism that let's you drain without taking the plug out. I did have to snug the drain plug a little bit more, though. It was pretty dark...
While that drained, I checked and adjusted my tire pressure. Studies show that can improve my fuel economy 1-2%.
In went the new stuff, 48oz. to freedom.
After that I tightened everything back up and was good to go. Just finished mowing and vacuuming a tremendous amount of leaves and pine needles and I'm now enjoying a fine cigar.
Join me next week as I stance the hell out of it.
