This week's random Georgano automobile encyclopedia entry is a pretty obscure Spanish 3-wheeled microcar. The entry in the book is pretty brief and there doesn't appear much written about this little car.
All I could discover was this:
In the early 50s Maquitrans of Barcelona, Spain produced 3-wheeler delivery scooters – motriciclo - and a weird 3-wheeler autoscooter. In 1957 they built the final version of their motriciclo. Of course it also was a three-wheeler microcar, but with complete bodywork (however: convertible). The car was not a success. Some sources say that about 20 copies were built. One car survived and is restored by an collector in the town of Reus (100km south of Barcelona).
Spain produced some wonderful micros like the Biscuter, David and the amazing PTV shown here:
They're all considered national treasures and Bruce Weiner formally of the Microcar Museum seems to be the one guy who has been able to export them. But, the oddball M.T. appears to have fallen through the cracks.
