Making cards that read "Coulda had a V8" and putting them on every new BMW 328i.

Amazing.

I fully support this. I'd go with ZL1 Camaro or C7 Stingray pics placed on Boxsters and Alfa's (in the near future)... but that's me, im almost 100% sure hardly anyone else here would agree lol :]

hahaha so brilliant. I wonder how many BMW owners will get it.

Err, in windows of 328's totoally agree .... not the case for Porsche's and Alfas. 4C > any chevy.

Was going to note the idiocy of that idea but instead i'll just take it as a revised, uprated version of "Dude, V6 Mustang".

Don't forget the C-Class too. Dat C63...

What magical land sells the C63 AMG for the same price as a 328i?

You wanted to note idiocy, but then you spewed idiocy.

I concur, it's hard to beat some American V8s!

I whole heartedly support your new hobby, well done sir.

No, I mean the C-Class owner deserve that card.
I think the standard C300 is a bit boring.

Enlighten me as to why a V8 (assuming mustang) is the obvious choice over a 328i. I'm not a fan of either, but I can see they work for different consumers and demographics. People choose cars for all sorts of reasons, some I agree with personally, some I don't.
I don't think the world would be a better place if everyone chose their vehicle based on the most hp/biggest displacement you get per $.

The logic is quite simple I guess.

I didn't say it was the obvious choice, just that it was a choice 328i drivers probably never considered. I said you spewed idiocy because you made a horrible attempt at making a point in your first comment.

That is incredibly uninformed. He's talking about speed/performance and track times. In which Corvette has been superior to Porsche in many situations and did so at half the cost (at times).

so...littering? Shoot, I've been doing that since before it was cool.
![]() 10/18/2013 at 14:43 |

Whoa now, who said anything about track times? I will concede there are some damn fast Vettes and Camaro's but if I was (hypothetically) walking up to my 4C, and saw a note that read "Coulda had a V8"
I would be like "yea could have, and dont" very proudly. Sometimes quality is better than quantity.

At least it wouldn't have crazy headlights.(just kidding joking on this one! but seriously i hate those lights, this is subjective tho).
Frankly the C7 is going to roast the 4C. I'm confident in that. I don't care if they sell 4 million 4C's, they aren't as fast.

Needs less fake retro ugly to be taken seriously. Its a fantastic engine stuck in a boomer baiting design that shows none of the current Ford fleets' good looks. I would rather have the Camaro of the current retro-muscle cars (especially the z28 and Zl1s).
I have hopes that Ford kills off the fake retro-nonsense with the 2015's, and makes the mustang a modern sports car in every aspect. They have to have seen the reception the C7 has gotten.

Part of the appeal to the 4C will be that they won't sell 4 million IMO.
But sure you can enjoy your faster lap times and I'll enjoy all the feels ..... the feels bro .....

I don't disagree that my initial comment was far from eloquent, I would contend that "Coulda had a V8" isn't much better.
It just seems odd to be picking on 328i's, when Mustang drivers in the majority probably never considered a 328i, or any other car in the price bracket we're targeting. They wanted the iconic, American, Ford Mustang.
It comes down to "if i had your money, i'd have spent it differently". I would assume people who buy all cars, Mustangs and 328i's included, arn't really making objective decisions. They are basing it on subjective reasons such as branding/identity, or more tangible economic factors like fuel economy, practicality and depreciation.
There is a whole world of choice of which many BMW and Mustang owners will be oblivious to. Condescending notes on windshields wont change that. Then i'm probably reading too much into this.

There's always something faster for less money. The C7 will be handily beaten by any of the faster Caterhams around most tracks. Caterhams are cheaper too.
