The just released Eric Buell Racing 1190RX. Getting away from Harley was the best thing that EBR ever did. Forget cruisers - they're for your grandfather, and I know a few guys his age still dragging knees. This is a bike America can be proud of.
Edit: Keep an eye out for this thing next year in World Superbike Racing - WSBK as EBR is going to the races with this thing. Having a real modern US made bike racing overseas in this series will be great to see.

Absolutely. Where the F*** are the american racing bikes? There are obviously American riders good enough for the world stage, but no bike. Someone needs to go race it.

Your wish will be granted. They're entering WSBK next year. It's not quite Moto GP but if it wins in WSBK the kind of people in the market for a Panigale or an RSV4 will take notice.

Indeed. I'm glad to hear that. So who wants to be the first to go ride that all over Italy and take down the red bikes on it?

Buell has been good at race bikes and stuff, but getting sucked into Harley killed them. Harley just put stupid restrictions and drug Buell's design and performance teams down with their badness. They wanted them to stick to old designs and old systems for production bikes.
This thing looks great on paper. High power v-twin in a reasonably light bike. I don't think it will be a dominate race bike, but it is a massive step in the right direction.

I agree, Harley made him some money to continue his development. On his own now, he is bringing some fantastic equipment to reality.

Winning in a series like WSBK comes down to bike setup and rider more than it does in something like Moto GP with prototypes. If they get the right rider, the bike responds well to fine tuning, and they can work together - anything could happen. First year out obviously it would be a lot to hope for, but it'll be interesting to watch.

Yeah, it has a decent chance in WSBK with the much friendly torque curve over some of the 4 cylinder bikes. The biggest issue is that even non-prototype 4 cylinder bikes have a lot higher power potential. That's one of the reasons one of my favorite bikes, the RC51, eventually fell off the top. They are pushing over 200 HP from 1 liter in production 4 cyl bikes.

God I wish I could fit this into my budget. But at $19,000? I'll keep my eyes glues to the new Yamaha FZ-09. However, EBR promised two more models. I wonder if they'll have a cheaper naked version? Due to lack of resources, I'm sure every bike will use the same chassis and engine, so I doubt price will vary much. Damnit America.
