Just made it to the mun for the first time in career mode. Bill is stuck there, but he can do science!

Now go discover mods, and kiss your free time goodbye.
Mun base? Why not mine Kethane and refine the fuel to get home!?

gotta wait for the mods to catch up to .22, it only dropped today. It'll be interesting to see how everyone incorporates the parts into the new career mode.

you've got nearly half a tank!
surely you can get back home on that.

Nope. Can't even make mun orbit

They should still work. Usually mods only break when they do something like change the partloader structure, like they did for 0.19

Have you tried .22?
This is in career mode. You have to earn parts. It's fucking insane and awesome.
I've landed on almost every body in old versions. I think the only ones I haven't been to are Eeloo, Tylo, Vall, and Bop.

dang, does mechjeb still work? I use it pretty extensively for figuring out a decent TWR (and lazy ascents when I don't care if I use too much fuel)

FUCK THERE'S A NEW RELEASE OUT WITH FUCKING GODDAMNED CAREER MODE I MIGHT LOSE MY JOB FROM PLAYING TOO FUCKING MUCH HOLY FUCKING SHIT

oh yeah, in sandbox they'll still work fine, but career mode adds research and science resources to unlock new parts. Also parts cost money now.
It'd be pretty game breaking if you could still yolo your way up there with free mod parts.

Is it one of those little, tiny fuel tanks? Or is your lander that heavy?
![]() 10/16/2013 at 23:18 |

Nah, probably won't for a while. My obsessions come and go.
Is the sandbox mode out entirely?
![]() 10/16/2013 at 23:21 |

Depends what you mean by entirely. I mean, sandbox has been out entirely for a long time, but resources and stuff aren't out yet.

It's a small fuel tank. The lander isn't that heavy, it's just not much fuel

Ah, no, I was asking if they had removed it, but someone else said it's still there.

sounds about right.
![]() 10/17/2013 at 00:20 |

Yes, it's still there. As far as I know there are no changes to it

Damn right it is. I would have commented earlier, but I was playing, and now I have to go to bed so I can work tomorrow so I don't lose my job.

Just don't let the science leak out
![]() 10/17/2013 at 08:49 |

Funnyish story: so the science works by either transmitting or bringing it back. Transmitting is worth less than bringing it back. In my first attempt to land on Mun I managed to set up a Free Return Trajectory , but forgot parachutes. So I did a mun flyby and basically said eh, fuck it, Bill will just crash into Kerbin and die and I can move on.
He enters Kerbin's atmosphere at 3500 km/s, burning a HUGE fireball but slowing down considerably. I go 'oh shit I might live!' and start burning my motor to slow down more. Landed next to a mountain, recovered science!

Screw your job, KSP is better.
I unlocked the fuel line last night...asparagus staging FTW!

... holey moley this might be the cure for my goddamned Minecraft habit! Yes! Methadone WILL replace morphine! Successsss.

I think KSP addiction can get much, much worse than minecraft. There's failure built in: you WILL fail, and you WILL try and try again
