If I were you, I'd make it look like Tommi Makinen's evo (make sure his name is on the hood) and put a little "trademark" symbol on the top right corner of the picture.

I don't know if it's well known enough. I just submitted a riff on the Korean GP Fire Jeep and got rejected w/ the cevat that if it was submitted a couple days after the race, they might have ran it. 2 weeks after, it might not be as fresh in the minds of those who could potentially buy it.

They did "Rohrl with it" and used the spitting image of a quattro as well as his name. They also had the Kimi mumble shirts using actual cars and liveries he's driven. The trademark icon is a joke on his initials

I like it, don't get me wrong I liked the original design. Was just thinking what would have more mass appeal, you can submit more than one design. I'd say use the scatter shot approach and see what sticks.
