How did you get her to see the light?! Haha
So we need
1: Volvo green light
2: Spousal approval
3: Bank account approval
Challenge accepted.

You work for Volvo? Usually the dealerships are the last to know these things, especially if Volvo is just in the testing stage.

Awesome good to know, sometimes I have clients with repair/maintenance questions and since I have no wrenching skills it is good to have some technician contacts.
What brands have you worked on?
![]() 10/16/2013 at 11:39 |

all brands in parts. I was a Volvo master tech but also the front end specialist (alignments etc.) for the 4 brands. I was also a Lexus master tech from 06-10

Interesting, since I am very much considering a CPO V60 once they become available (and once I have the monies) how is their long-term reliability compared to say zeGermans or even Lexus? What types of things did you typically see that needed replacing?

no a whole lot of things i can report from new Volvo's as "common" issues. As with all new high end cars, they have their random ass electrical malfunctions. The 5 cyl turbo is still being offered, in which case that pesky flame trap box is the common high dollar item. Lexus has been battling engine blow by issues "they still insist its a direct injection issue" (direct injector rails, valve springs, and piston rings..yes piston rings, can do those darn GR engines in my sleep now lol) Beside that, Lexus were always the most reliable vehicle i've ever worked on. Mercedes is still Mercedes today man. Just a more common random electrical issue and rattle noise complaints. All in all, after 60K they age like if it was a 1990's car was at 150K. Way lower shelf life throughout. By that i mean random oil leaks, all things rubber wil be worn out. But all that is typical nowadays sir. Just maintenance. Each model has its "thing" dude. Speaking in general of course. Also, take advantage of the scheduled maintenance, dont miss them :]
